He said heaps of rumours going around getting rosters ready for next year and Penrith want a prop need the cash mite have to release a player in demand

Balancing the books & vacancies will be Richo's deal breaker.
2 mill but minimal spots.
Pay out Tumeth, Naden & Sukkar maybe for next year. You probably get a return on Naden & Sullivan you would think.
Rough calculations would be 5 spots... As I think we have 1 now.
Tumeth & Sukkar would have to minimum deals so there's $300k.
Naden probably costs us $150k.
Sullivan maybe $250k.
So we are down to 1.5m give or take.
Resign Sione Fainu - $250k
I really hope letting Simpkin, Kepaoa & don't forget Nofa go early assists the cap.
The other 4 spots need to be forwards.

So proud of the boys tonight down 16-0 I thought “here we go again.” But nope they turned on and up some which I love. Despite what many may say Benji has improved and developed this team into a better side. Next year we lose out on Stefano and Papalii which is no doubt a big loss but the likes of the Fainu boys and the breakout season for Pole have made it an even trade.
Tonight (for me at least) has solidified Galvin as our 5/8. As for Fainu he could be one of the great locks if he wishes to develop there. There is no doubt the Fainu bros would love to all stay in the same team and I think they’d be willing to make sacrifices to do so. Great signs ahead.

This is the most significant point by miles. We all obsess about free agent signings but if competent clubs like Penrith start mining "our" junior nursery we might as well pack up and move to Christchurch.

It is an issue. The Pathways' team has been outstanding in identifying and signing the best of our young talent. We need continuous improvement in this area including additional resources because the importance of junior talent to our club was on display in the NRL game.

With Horsburgh and Bird being played out in the media you can pretty much guarantee WT will not sign them (per Richo’s previous comments on player negotiations).
We don’t have enough top 30 spots to waste one on Bird
So any reporter can say ,OH the tigers are looking at xxx , then we just say sorry we can’t sign that bloke , have that as ur high horse u won’t be signing any one , it’s one way of still sitting at the bottom of the pack
