The Best Agree

One thing that I really appreciated last night was that channel nine had 4 of the best players ever commentating, and they all took the time to individually praise our young blokes, whilst actively encouraging them to stay with us and build something special.

Joey and Cam posed every question to Galvin in the post game interview through the lens that he was going to be with us for the next decade at a minimum. Thursto did the same afterwards and Billy mentioned a few times during commentary that the Tigers will be a force in the coming years as they matured. Not one of them insinuated that we wont keep these kids - they went out of their way to give the impression they are the building blocks of what will be a long overdue and great revival. They all care about this game and are really hopeful that the Wests Tigers will climb out of the doldrums we are in. I wouldnt be surprised to hear that behind the scenes, they are giving them advice based upon signing long term with us. Joey has already done so with Galvin.

They all clearly want to see the Tigers succeed, are sympathetic of our 13 years of garbage and will be our biggest fans once we start to fire. There exists an opportunity to use these guys in a mentoring/coaching role Id suggest. Possible special guest coaching roles, maybe one day a fortnight...
  • Billy works with the back 3 on kick returns and especially Bula re: organising a defence from the back
  • Cam works with the on field generals to educate the intricacies of controlling a game - including the officials
  • Joey to work with a kickers - long, short, high and develops the chase teams
  • Thurston works with the worker bee guys - especially Galvin to focus them and cut down the 600 darts at the board where only 5 stick and transform that towards 200 darts where 50 stick

I'll also say, if Phil Gould was there, Id suggest his words would have been carefully chosen to describe a scenario far different. Same with the NRL360 boys bar Tallis. We need to be careful around guys like them as they will give self serving advice.

Good post and pleasing to hear

I watched on Kayo and pretty much switch off at f/t..

We've gotta start showing g something and last night was a good example... They hung in after a putrid start.... I dunno what benji says but whatever it is and its still fresh in their minds they seem to be abysmal... After some time and they all get the feel of the game it clicks somewhat

Galvin's retention is a must... I'm still pissed off about Stef he will become a wrecking ball with Bellamy

Yes, Benji needs help. Help from these blokes is well worth the investment.

I would say Tallis is one of the worst of the 360 Boys. I mean the crap tallis says, forget it.

Seriously I don't know why we don't throw beer cans at him, I don't know why we don't throw garbage cans at him. Total tool and the nonsense he spews is redicous.

Otherwise totally agree. It is good to hear some of the best talk the club up, but that could be showmanship. TV knows were a massive club and they may be liking our audience. I suspect the NRL realises that No Tigers and they would loose a massive supporter base. (honestly I have seen Tigers, Norths, Souths and dragons jerseys in my parts... But a lot more TIgers. )

Tallis played the game at every level and achieved everything as a team man.
He is about the players and is fair.

Nice post..

I don't normally watch 9 but did and feel the same.
360 crew and there so called commentors are just so negative towards us and it shows.

I don't know. When the tigers were copping a hiding earlier by some of the so called journalists, he made a lot of sense.

Players agitating for a release, you signed, you stay or sit out like I did.

He also calls out that some clubs salary cap space seems to be the equivalent of an American fast food outlets endless refill policy

I enjoyed reading this post and it does appear these players care about WTs and our young players. Thanks for posting.
