for a lower tier top 30 member.
Garner is on 250k at Panthers....

We'd get some better value out of 800k than what we're getting out of much more atm.
What you mean to say, 2 x 400k Players that would entertain the Tigers aren't worth Sh*t....

Our 400k players are Kyle Lovett and Zac Cini Calibre

Where's the difference between the 800k he's on at Parra for the next 2 years
and the 300 he's worth at Centre get made up?

And that's not even considering the half a season he'll probably be out for every year moving forward....
It's a no, He's also a c*ck so it's a hard no....

The 'value' we give a player is not only subjective, it's mostly ill informed. In what world is Clint Gutherson a $300k a season player? You're putting him in Alex Seyfarth territory. You don't have to like him to understand he's a quality player.

Would I want him on $800k? No, but it's not my money either. But, would he solidify the defence, add experience, not panic & give dumb penalties & generally make the team better? Yeah, probably. How much is THAT worth?
 
I can't believe fans here bag Gutho who clearly gives everything on the field and has been integral in anything good Parra has achieved in recent times.
Not suggesting for a minute we should sign him at this stage of his career, but we would have been a much better team with a player of his attitude and ability.
 
Gutherson would cost you north of 800 a season and that money needs directing to fixing up the forward pack at this stage. Iam actually a Gutho fan, he is a real competitor with real football IQ. He gets in the face of the opposition and pushes the boundaries with the refs. In saying that we have our man for next year who will do that sort of thing so we don’t need another

Did you actually read what my reply, Or had a response pre-prepared thought "That will do"?
Gutho hasn't played centre since he came into grade, Unless you count the game 4-5 years ago in
Origin where he was made to look silly....

I would suggest in this world (The real world) any team that buys a Busted 30+ year old Gutherson to play "centre" is paying no more than 300k for him, unless they're run by idiots....

Agree Daine Laurie can’t get through a game without losing the ball in a tackle or knocking on attacking a kick, I’m interested to see if Ivan sticks with him this week.
Or Turuva gets back on the wing.

This is the same message board that suggests moving Bula to centre as well, right? So it must be an easy thing, yeah?

Gutherson would get more than $300k no matter what position a club wants to play him in.

I read your reply. I questioned the imaginary $300k value you gave him.

I wasn't overly sold on him from his performances this year, next year he'll probably be less mobile for a while as it is and that's not taking into account that some players are never the same after multiple knee surgeries.

Does anyone actually know the extent of his surgery and what the recovery might look like?
