SMH Article 'We’ve lost faith in them’: Balmain consider shock exit from Wests Tigers merger

Originally a Balmain supporter here. Now a die hard Wests Tigers supporter, Balmain and Western Suburbs no longer exist in the N.R.L. This is the cause of all our problems people from either Balmain or Western Suburbs who never embraced the merger. It's been 25 years now, there are supporters who only know the Wests Tigers. Can someone please email these dinosaurs from both sides and tell them to shut up and piss off finally, they are irrelevant. N. R. L should come out and say uncategorically there will be absolutely no way a stand alone Balmain team will be included in first grade N.R.L.
Wish the N.R.L would appoint 2 of the 4 independant board members just to keep an eye on these muppets.
 
I hate this so much. This isn’t the Balmain Tigers nor the Wests Magpies, it’s the Wests Tigers. I respect the past but by all means it’s still the past. We are a new club with a new vision. Let’s stop thinking as independent clubs but instead the one club that we actually are. Very disappointing.
 
Well I guess signings and extensions are going to be on hold.

Richo will be losing his mind, wouldn’t be surprised if he resigned shortly if this happens. He brings the legends together and change the tone and now this.

Luai will be on the phone tomorrow going wtf

If this has any truth hope they leave and die - I’m from the Balmain side and dumb business decisions = dumb outcomes.

Guess we might have seen our last NRL game at LO.

In fairness, in the early years the JV was majority supported by Balmain and Wests were the poor cousins. Over the years that situation reversed. But really who cares? Gary Leo is a no-name from Balmain like the no-names from Wests. They are irrelevant.

Holy moley, you can’t be serious. Stand up, put phone/iPad, down. Or get up from the computer, step outside and take some deep breaths mate. The anxiety this pointless article is giving you is pulsating through my screen. The sky is not falling.

HBG have been a pretty big reason for this club being the shit show that it is over the last 10 years and they've just found a way to re-install the muppets that were ousted in the first place.

I think the frustration runs deep, to the point Elias was putting together an offer to buy the club from HBG if you can remember.

It's clear we have a very different governance structure than other teams and incompetence is difficult to remove at that level at our club.
