That’s a pretty lively Magpies pack. Wouldn’t have taken a backward step.

The name Dick Wilson brings back humorous memories coz he was banned for many weeks over a match fixing scandal. It was the Balmain v Newtown game around the same era ( Balmain were red hot favourites but had an “off” day) and it came out later that Dick had organised some pretty big bets on Newtown.
Whoops! I wonder how many other games over the years had a similar story.
