Of course it was Gus...JAC is a noble, humble and very honest person...Bra....Even when the sample comes back positive from the LAB, there is already a Bulldogs and JAC prepared response to this pleading his innocence....all the while the NRL is shaking at the knees at what "punishment" to dish out to him without offending.... You see NRL players, especially indigenous, are a protected species, just ask Latrell.

These drug tests are often inaccurate and his urine sample was negative. I wouldn't be too quick to assume he is guilty of anything.

Yes funny how latrell looks like he’s on the coke , then addo gets caught , but nothing to see here , I am betting money he gets off some how , and it will be one rule for them and another for the rest of us

Said it before and il say it again the nrl is rife with drug use , and the players association needs to change the rule to allow any player caught in this predicament to allow for what ever test is required to clear their name , and it must be done the next day , if a player like Jack waits 3 days for a pee test that’s not on , do a hair sample test that will give a better result , offering up your own doctors report , or a pee tests days later when it is out of your system is wrong , players should also be required to agree to drug tests any time the nrl request it during the season , that’s from day 1 pre season to grand final day ( Random testing led by the nrl special drug unit ) any player refuse a test would be auto suspended 6 games , this will make sure the clubs also toe the line , at present
Latrel and Ponga to me are both drug takers during the season as both have dodged a proper test , same for Smith , and Munster .

The NRL do not want the scandal and would rather let the players off than see the game in the papers for the wrong reasons.

I do not get 1 match for Latrell and probably Addo Carr.

Below was in Fox sports at the time;

In 2001, Wests Tigers stars Kevin McGuinness and Craig Field were fined more than $450,000 between them for testing positive to class A drugs.

The National Rugby League anti-doping tribunal banned them for six months.

McGuinness, who admitted taking 11 ecstasy tablets in the weeks leading up to a drugs test, later had his suspension slashed on grounds of "good behaviour".

Field, who tested positive for cocaine, wasn't so lucky but still got off lightly, bearing in mind how much players earn.

Yeah that's odd. I thought they were usually arrested and processed at the local station the same as drink driving?

He wasn't. That's the lie he told Gus. He failed the tongue swipe, the cops took him to the police vehicle to do the swab which they take to the lab for analysis. He then can't drive for 24 hours. Either he snuck back later to get his car or someone else drove it for him but either way, he lied about the cops letting him drive off.

Well that would make sense I suppose. It would be crazy to let someone drive if you believe they have drugs in their system that would impair their driving.

For years a majority of NRL players have been on the gear. When I was still going out and being a pest 20 years ago it was a running joke which NRL players you'd spot out on the gear.

The players should suffer the same legal consequences as anyone else.

In terms of extra penalties as NRL players just make it clear that it's X NRL games first offence and an extra X on top for subsequent offences. For example, an automatic 4 week suspension (and for subseqnt offence an extra 4 on top).

4 weeks is lenient but it will stop some of the BS around "was it rack or not". The main thing is clear automatic penalties that dont overly punish putting your hand up and saying you stuffed up. Any super long ban, or uncertainty around what guys might cop based on their profile, race or anything does more harm than the open secret that is recreational drug use. We have a problem like the rest of society, long bans because you are the goose dumb ir unlucky enough to get caught is just a stupid relic.

NRL is a reactive and poorly governed organisation from the outside looking in. They try to score big brownie points with some minorities and are gutless on other issues. I don't expect them to try anything that resembles common sense, I don't even know if I love my suggestion. However the problem is going to get bigger and it would be great to have consistency and leadership. Otherwise just accept half the league are on it at every opportunity and some players will be protected and others drawn and quartered. Actually that sounds better, create lots of false drama about drugs our kids schoolteachers probably take so more people get outraged and need to subscribe to fox and kayo to see what those idiots (also on the gear) have to say.

From a player manager. I think that's true that the cops were called away and that's probably when Addo Carr took his chance and jumped in the car. He definitely wasn't meant to be driving.
Anyway, the worst crime ha has committed is making Gus look like a fool by lying to him and Gus then passing the fib onto the media. I don't think he'll be anywhere near Belmore next year.

I don't claim to know much on this but his urine sample was like 2-3 days after and some people are saying it gets out of your system in 2 days.. so was always going to be gone if that's the case.
