LIVE GAME Finals week 1 discussion

Live Game Discussion
Anyone notice Cleary hip drop Watson after the charge down, he didn’t catch his legs but certainly grabbed around the hips and feet left the ground.
Was pretty unavoidable but if he was in a Tigers jersey think they would have noticed it.
No, it was not, was a diving tackle and he made the effort to slide his body around to the front of the ruck rather then be holding onto his legs from behind. Textbook chase tackle imo.

Panthers show what enthusiasm and hunger looks like. Their aggressive D never letting opponents stand in a tackle - always putting them on the ground and then the urgency to get up and stand at marker.
In the first half after a charge down looked like Roosters would score for sure but a chase, try saving tackle and then every Panther behind the ball - that was amazing effort play from every player.
Yes and they were still doing it in the 75h minute, despite having the game sewn up. This level of commitment has to be driven by the coach and senior players. Api shows it every week. Let's see if Luia and Turuva can assist him to demand and get this level of effort from every player next year.

Suck shit Roosters. Go Penrith. King Luai was outstanding. I’m not sold on Turuva. Seems jobberish.

Hoping Newcastle and Cronulla win - makes it even harder to hold on to players.

Hate the Cowboys.

Hoping the Dogs win and Brooks plays horrendous.

Hoping the Bulldogs then get belted - I hate their fans.

Go the Panthers!

Sign Dean Iremia or whatever his name is from Melbourne.

Benji was quoted this year stating that effort is a not nogotiable at our club. They are going through a process of weeding out the guys who don’t meet that standard. The group carrying on at spoon bowl are target one.

Before blaming coaching, don’t forget these guys sign NRL deals ending with many zero’s. Individual accountability is implied when you sign that contract, it’s not up to Benji to pack their lunch and remind them to bring their A game.

That’s what you see at Penrith, pride in a jersey.

The players would have to be very very fit to continue that effort for the whole game. No wonder Galvin came in and left our boys for dead because All of our players are still a long way from producing that sort of effort. Before we worry about coaches, we should sort out our fitness, to get to the standard of the Panthers and now the Dogs.

That is one thing that stood out watching the Panthers - they’re so fit. They hit with a lot of energy in defence, but then also get back to set their defensive line so quickly. And to maintain that for the whole game. Unbelievable

He was a good second rower when he was here and was always capable of running a good line, would in fact still be our best pick at centre if he was still here at the moment.

Some will no doubt laugh but they're the ones that need a reality check.
Cleary will drop him when Sorensen comes back. He’s a cat. 4 hit ups for 17m is his MO.

Their use of their wingers and centres in attack enables this and has been the trademark of their winning run.

Great coach too. We gotta start waking up to that
also, his cards have been shuffled, followed his heart
You know I must be getting soft, but as much as I hated Ivan for what he did when he he left us I can understand that he went with his heart and in the end followed his dream and did the best thing for himself and his family.

Still consider him a traitor for lying and squandering our cap the way he did but there is no doubt that he can coach and was probably the best coach we have had and got the best out of the players we had at the time.

It would have been interesting to see where we would be today if he had of seen out his contract here.

It is difficult for me to say this but if I am being totally honest, If I was Ivan and was confronted with the same choices I would have almost certainly done the same.

100% Tigers would have been penalised for that tackle, as soon as I saw it I had the exact same opinion.

Cleary will definitely bring Sorensen back in when available but it's pretty funny how you can use stats to push a case.

Everyone would no doubt be singing the praises of Liam Martin (just for the record he is a beast) but are pretty quick to dismiss Luke Garner.

Respect bro, I share those same sentiments

Ivan was never a traitor. Our board could of been the problem. He had him. We lost him. Something broke down unless someone knows the truth.

Also it was good to see Luai not happy after 2nd roosters try. Went to Turuva first. Looked at Alimotti first but had a change of heart. He will demand more out of our team next year. He will question them.
