Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

If anything- Anasta is the one most likely to defend the Tigers.

Hooper is the absolute worst. But all the journos- the guys that never played- they take delight in giving it to the Tigers because it gets them clicks.

Tallis & Anasta are the two that don't lay the boot in on every occasion.

Pretty sure the Tigers did something to Corey Parker though- that dude is carrying a grudge.
Wah wah wah...so the media has been forced to hold back on us because it upsets the supporters.

It's everything that's wrong with this club.

Well considering that the coach of Flegg in 21 was Wayne Lambkin who did coach us to first place then took over for the NSW Cup side in 22 to coach us to second last on the ladder while Gardiner did get us to 3rd the year before, I say Gardiner did a good job certainly better than Lambkin did. I don’t think it’s lazy considering it’s supposed to be the grade before first making the transition to first grade if you’re lucky to get there. Credit to Lambkin to coach the Flegg side to first place in Flegg, but then he just fell off the cliff to get us second last in 22 then only one spot better in 23. Also if Penrith were willing to take Gardiner on as an assistant coach, shows he’s clearly rated given how strong a team they are.
I don’t know how anyone can judge any grade this year . We had Massey and flegg players making up most of the KOE cup team , sg ball , flegg and KOE cup players playing most weeks in nrl , and sg ball and flegg squad members making up the flegg team .
Hopefully next year the teams are more levelled out X and everyone knows where they really sit within the hierarchy of the club , to form combinations .
Because this year more than any other year was all about individual development , completely at the expense of every single grade .
Being a lower grade coach , trying to advance your career would really suck at the moment .
As results would matter . Unless you manage to develop most of the team you coached into nrl players .
I don’t know how you prove success / your resume with what happened this past season .

Anasta’s default setting is to go after us. It’s usually starts with the loaded backhanded rhetorical question. Sometimes it’s the segway to the tigers topic with the half giggle and smirk.

Anasta & Benji are tight, he defended us heaps this
year on 360. They're part of that 'It club' us, and journos
get a peek into but never can fully comprehend.

You can see when it comes to us he enjoys it when there’s bad news about us going around and he enjoys criticising us every chance he gets. At times it’s deserved don’t get me wrong, but when there’s a bad story involving us he loves the negative attention we get you can see it on his face. He clearly regretted coming to us and was a shit player for us when he was here.
I think he has narcissistic traits. Tigers “made him look bad” even though we gave him a lifeline. He’ll throw his hosts under a bus any chance he can get. Except Geordie who would probably throttle him.

A player who could potentially solve our right edge second row void if/when Bateman departs is Simi Sasagi.
I noticed he was making plenty of line breaks and scoring his fair share of tries for The Raiders NSW Cup team earlier in the season, then found his way into The Raiders NRL team and played well in their last couple of games.
He is now starring in the NSW Cup Grand Final today.
He is listed as being contracted to The Raiders until the end of 2025, meaning he can be signed from November 1 this year.
The Raiders are well stocked with good quality edge forwards, so I’d say it’s highly likely they allow him to head elsewhere for 2025 if he wants to go.
He has also played quite often as a centre when required, so is one of those versatile type of edge players that are very valuable.

Has anyone seen young Nsemba from Wigan. Big, powerful young forward, just turned 20. Shaun Wayne has included him in the England squad to take on Samoa in this year's 3 match series. I hope Richo had a look at him on his recent visit. I'm going to watch him closely during the international series. Hopefully he gets some game time.

He actually spent a few months with Wests Tigers about 24 months back, not sure why he didn’t stay any longer ?
He’s a big young beast, potentially one of the best edge forwards in the world within a couple of years. Only issue is he’s a little big suspect in defence at the moment, but like all young players, that will improve with age and maturity.

Couple guys on here, can't remember who really
rated Junior Nsemba. Had a hell of a season apparently

I wonder if we are a chance of getting him back, seeing he has already spent some time with the club? Hopefully he didn't leave on bad terms.

You're mistaking him for the young kid we had a
few years ago, from bradford bulls, semi fenya or
some such. He didn't last a season out here...

Edit

From memory (which is not as good as it used to be) when we played the donkeys Parker tried to bully some of our smaller players and Dane Laurie (our original player not the second) stood up to him and looked like he was going to kill him,Parker went pasty faced voided his bladder and bowels at the same time and backed away at the rate of knots..
At least that is how my memory remembers it.
Haha. Parker wanted none of that!!
Reminded me how Sirro looked when Les Davidson offered him the chance to " go on with it", after Sirro gave him a facial in a tackle.
Don't think Sirro was considered an intellectual but that was def a wise decision.
