Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

An argument would have to be made for Sione Fainu to be that squad too. If Bateman doesn't come back, Seyfarth to the 2nd row & Fainu to the bench could work. Or Fainu could replace Twal.

To be fair, there's even an argument to be made of Fainu to replace Utoikamanu & keep Pole on the bench.

What the club does regarding it's middle players, and Jack Bird/Bateman, is actually really interesting. Some players we think are good are going to miss out if we add more starters.

What about trying Sione on the edge? Our last game he chased down the intercept and showed very good pace. While I think he could be a topline front rower, I also think it's worth having a look at him on that right edge. His size, mobility, footwork and offloading talent could be a real weapon.

Just thinking out loud with a bounty rum in hand, it’s past 12 here fyi. Hunt will be impact for max 30 mins. TDS, I tend to agree with those who say he has impact and needs to be used in FG. Bird - how will he be used, all rounder, 13, cover IDK? Him and TDS on the bench with Hunt riding the pine doesn’t inspire confidence. If we had RCG, another decent minute prop and some hard tackling machines in the middle it would be great to have that flexibility. I just think we are already undersized and soft. Add Latu as well. I actually don’t mind the Latu centre idea. Going to be interesting!

I can't see Latu playing centre. A few times this year he was on the bench and a centre went down or sinbinned and Sam was the one to move out there. So I don't think Benji has any thoughts on Latu playing centre.

I wonder why? Maybe his injuries? Sam is bloody versatile. Going to be hard to fit most of our young talent in the team even without further forward signings. Depth is good in the halves, even the spine to a degree, for the first time in a while

still a lot of incomings and outgoings to come I feel before we know how our side will take shape.

Hetherington and Montoya on the cards, plus a clear need for another middle forward and a backrower. we’ll be in a good spot if we manage to do that, providing we can clear a few spots via player sales.
100%. A lot can happen between now and kick off 25. The list I put up was just a guide from zero tackle, personally I'd be happy to see the back of Bateman. We still need some serious muscle up front.

Unbelievably the Rorters have 7 roster spots available for 2025
I seem to remember a decade or more ago the Rosters had a similar stage. They didn’t rush, used free cap space to bring forward some cap and focused on a three year rebuild.

They are looking at a similar stage again now I reckon.

I think a lot of people have way too much faith in Richo. Is he any different to the players we sign milking out a payday before retirement.
Well yes he is different on that analogy because Richo is old enough to retire already and independently successful, so he doesn't need the cash.

I truly believe he does it because he enjoys the challenge of turning struggling clubs around - that's his entire work history.

Can’t just chuck anyone at centre, the most specialist defensive place on the pitch.

The NRL must think Solomona is coming to play for us next year considering the fact that he is looking at a 4-5 match ban after last nights semi.
Missing GF and 3 international games for NZ. He be ready and fresh to start round 1 again in NRL next season.
Hope it was with us.

Does anyone here actually work for WT? I see a few people asking @kade7 (I think) some stuff, just curious lol
Hi User
Welcome to the wests tigers forum, I don't work for the WT, but any sauce I get about player signings is from isle 9 middle shelve, his name is Tomato sauce at woolworth's bwahahahaaaaaaaa hahahaaaaaaaaaaa

Yes I do. Although the topic im about to bring up is not that popular in conversation at this time however, it is still a common topic. Benji being the coach of the tigers. I think we need to put trust in the bloke let the club build off a culture that has been lacking for a decade. This can happen under benji who is tiger through and through. Also a very intelligent coach with lots of respect from players. No one could of gotten a better position for the tigers this season with the squad that they had which often lacked experience in the NRL. Put it into perspective we averaged a sin bin almost every game, NRL rules are much more stricter then the rules the younger debutants are used to in KOE and Hmatts or SG. I think with the addition of two more Penrith players such as Luai and Turuva will add that experience and confidence we need within the team for next season. Just hope that Galvin stays but if not we have a good five eight to slot in, Latu Fainu. All we need from Benji is to masterplan a tough pre season something similar to the top teams which push our players to fitness levels that we have lacked in other seasons. Winning starts in the preseason and it also starts from the head of office. The club wont make the 8 next year but we will be promising maybe a 10-12th finish which is a far better improvement. I just hope tigers dont jump the gun and sack benji. Give him 1 more year after 2025 to really decide if we need a different coach. The tigers also have players in juniors that we need to keep such as Onitoni Large and Makasini who are guns and have proven themselves in SG (Correct me if im wrong).
very thoughtfull,i agree 100%,2 many words,my head hurts lol
