Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Interesting no happy birthday post for John Bateman today but just 10 days ago there was one for Isiah papali’i, hopefully a sign for things to come involving Batemans contract, or I’m just looking too far into it
But we were able to send a well done across the bridge to Brooks along with one to a guy who’s left for Penrith.
Everything arse about face in this club.
I’d say you are looking right into it !

Isn’t that splitting hairs ?
If he is supposedly coming back wouldn’t it be a nice gesture or do we take it as he’s not coming back ?
I can come up with some theories & my latest is Bateman & Naden to Manly.

1 - Generational talent Large (akin to a Top 4 AFL draft pick so has high value IMO) released to Manly.
2 - Bateman managed by Isaac Moses, Seibold’s manager.
3 - Bateman recruited to WT by Sheens & Warren Macdonnell. WMac now Manly’s recuitment manager.
4 - Manly could use another backrower.
5 - Naden recruited by WMac to WT too. Would be good depth there.

Who is with me?

Love to know the 7 ,it’s bullshit , Hodgo beats 7 coaches to assist Benji , please , his record is shit , jobs for the boys again
The other 7?
Here’s the list they pick from, take a guess;
Hodgo, Daniel Fitzhenry, Shane Elford, Paul Whatuira, Pat Richards, Benji Marshall, Scott Prince (c), Anthony Laffranchi, Robbie Farah, John Skandalis, Ben Galea, Mark O'Neill, Dene Halatau. Interchange: Liam Fulton, Chris Heighington, Bryce Gibbs, Todd Payton, and Tim Sheens.
Obviously Payto is busy, and Sheensy and RF just got the punt, that should narrow it down a bit.

NRL 2024: Brett Hodgson to return to Wests Tigers as part of Benji Marshall’s coaching staff

Benji Marshall will reunite with a 2005 premiership-winning Tigers teammate who is set to return to the club as part of their revamped coaching staff.

Premiership-winning fullback Brett Hodgson is set to return to the Wests Tigers as part of Benji Marshall’s revamped coaching staff.

This masthead understands that Hodgson has agreed to terms with the Tigers and will form part of Marshall’s staff next year, the pair joining forces to help lift the club off the bottom of the ladder.

Hodgson and Marshall were teammates in the Tigers’ 2005 premiership win but they face a mountainous task to lift the club back into title contention given recent results – the club won a third consecutive wooden spoon this season.

Hodgson was most recently on Eddie Jones’ staff with the Wallabies, part of a coaching apprenticeship that has taken him around the globe.

He served as a coaching consultant at Hull FC and Widnes in Super League, and then an assistant with Widnes.

He returned to the Tigers in 2018 as an assistant coach before returning to England to take charge of Hull FC.

His return to the Tigers came after assistant Robbie Farah opted to step down from his role as an assistant to Marshall.

Chief executive Shane Richardson conducted a comprehensive search for his replacement and the club has arrived on Hodgson, who played 103 games for the Tigers and played fullback in their one and only premiership win.

Having foamed their coaching roster. Richardson and Marshall will now turn their attention back to strengthening their roster with Brisbane back rower Kobe Hetherington still locked in talks with the club.

Hetherington has played 78 games for the Broncos but has been given permission to explore his options on the open market.
Similar to the comprehensive search Sheens undertook that saw him appoint himself as head coach

yeah … it ain’t great … but what was the expectation… some former first grade coach was coming here to be an assistant ? … and by the way he wasn’t going to be a distraction in case they start 1-4 next year … ?

Benji been here 2 years now … he needs to poo or get off the pot ..
Sounds like you know a lot about pot.
