Not that simple.Something I found interesting with certain clubs recruitment is that the Roosters have still got 7 spots on their 30 man roster open ......Storm have 6 spots open on their 30 man roster ......we have none I believe .....interesting how the successful clubs think and how we think ....
I literally read that for the first time today about Klemmer.Rumour that Klem as well as Bateman dont talk to Benji.....?....Why dont they leave then!!!!
It’s hard for any of us to really know without knowing the full circumstances, but I’ve been in plenty of workplaces and sporting clubs where the boss or coach basically ignores staff or players they don’t think are performing or capable of performing to the level they are expecting.Players don't play no talkies in clubs like the Storm because they would isolate themselves. Strong clubs back their coaches over players who are past their best or not good enough and tap them before they get to that point and only keep the ones who are capable of still contributing at a level needed to succeed.

Not that simple.
All clubs go through phases where they're flush with spaces some years and more full others.
We're flush with money this year, but short on spots due to past management decisions.
There'll be years where it's the complete opposite.
(Though no team should ever be as clogged as we are at the present time; that's been a giant cock-up).
Yes, short on spots due to past management decisions.'Past' Management decisions?
I'd be shocked if 3/4 of this Roster wasn't signed by Benji....
He's here for 3 more years.
Yes, short on spots due to past management decisions.
Benji isn't management. He's head coach.
And whilst we would've most likely had a (heavy) say in contracts for the past 2 years, there were other key stakeholders present that would've, if not been the final sign-off, at least had heavy input.
Sheens as former head coach/director of football, Pascoe as CEO and Fulton as recruitment officer all would've played key roles in the squad formation.
That statement was specifically referring to the role Shane Richardson has played in the formation of the current squad, specifically as it pertains to the lack of roster spots.
Lazy rebuttal. From the mouth of Sheens,
"There'll be no player here in 2025 without Benji's say so"
We're at 2025.
That Gutherson report is for 2026.
So the Eels plan to keep him for 2025 and then let him explore his options.
He shouldn't be considered for a deal, especially after another year from now.
His knees are shot.
Retirement awaits, remebered as an Eels legend or whatever.
Way too many roll of the dice top 30 spots on kids. Not that simple.

And, as I've stated, to the extent that Benji had COMPLETE control of the squad formation, then that, too, is a failure of past management.
Majority while working for the Benny Hill show.
Imagine you sticking up for them!Imagine you blaming everything on those guys - Crazy!!
Plenty come on after they're gone too....
They're all there.
Imagine you sticking up for them!
Yes that is paranoid.I wonder if the Roosters went to the NRL and said can you help us keep this kid in the game would they have received support? Call me paranoid but these are the kinds of small advantages that we constantly hear about. They all add up to the kind of results that you collated in the salary cap thread. Smart management yes, but also inequity.
Apart from maybe the Bird contract, I’m fine with every decision they’ve made so far.How so?
Did you take stock of the contracts we've dished out since they've been gone?
Except that there are numerous literal examples of the game changing the rules to accommodate those clubs.Yes that is paranoid.
