Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Not that simple.

All clubs go through phases where they're flush with spaces some years and more full others.

We're flush with money this year, but short on spots due to past management decisions.

There'll be years where it's the complete opposite.

(Though no team should ever be as clogged as we are at the present time; that's been a giant cock-up).
Exactly, Easts tried to get Suuali to stay, even tried to get him to renege on his ARU deal, they tried to re-sign Manu, they wanted Keary and Touponiua to leave early, that worked out well when they did. It was no masterstroke, and Napa and Jennings were never going to be re-signed, and JWH was already pre arranged to finish up

Whilst we're thinking of our roster for the immediate season ahead, here is a list of our players who are in the final year of their contract next season - 10 players in total:

Brandon Tumeth (assuming he activates his player option)
Adam Doueihi
Justin Matamua
Josh Feledy
Fonua Pole
Brent Naden
Alex Seyfarth
Charlie Staines
Tony Sukkar (club has an option for 2026)
David Klemmer (mutual option for 2026, assuming club doesn't take that up)

Note 1 - assuming 1 or more of these are moved on very soon for next season.
Note 2 - We know that Makasini is top 30 in 2026 & assuming Mason is too but not confirmed.

How do the people that said it was ridiculous for manly to tell Large he’d play first grade next year feel about Makasini’s manager confirming he was promised the same thing? I personally don’t have problems with teams doing it but a lot of people on here had different opinions
He was told he’s a chance to play, not told he is going to play

Yep, 2026 is the year we move.
Next year is all about preparation, teaching the kids to playand determining how many of the exstablished can grow.
2026 will see a decent influx of talent and if done correctly will mark the beginning of our title surge.

I’m not going to list all of them but special allowance was made for Suaalii and that Mark fella in the last few years.
When they had a run of head knocks there was cap relief being requested. It’s smart administration to request these things, I don’t dispute that.

Our dickhead couldn’t even make a club legend an ambassador.

Nothing to do with how clubs 'think'.

Successful clubs have good players queuing up to play for them, youngsters happy to wait for their chance. They have superstars on big money and then fill out the last few roster spots with players on minimum wage. We should be doing the same.
But at least doing it the way the Storm etc seem to do it you are getting players who are in current better form than guys signed 6 months earlier

It is how they think...how they operate. They are patient and get their targets. How many kids lining up do they say no to? We sign the first kid who glances in our direction.

We crack the top 8 next year I'm happy 2 wager

Something I found interesting with certain clubs recruitment is that the Roosters have still got 7 spots on their 30 man roster open ......Storm have 6 spots open on their 30 man roster ......we have none I believe .....interesting how the successful clubs think and how we think ....
Penrith have 30.
