Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Theory time, could we be doing a bit of quid pro quo with manager Mario Tartak?

We take on JAC as our left wing for 2 years (take on his final year at Dogs + 1 more) to partner Olam on the left side. Then this transitions in theory to a left side pairing of Makasini & Luke Laulilii in ‘27, both Tartak clients.

In return Tartak agrees to find a new home for Bud Sullivan without putting up any resistance.

I think I’d be ok with that result!

The thought of player managers having that degree of power at clubs is terrible,i know it is a fact of life but i certainly don't like it at all

I don't hate it.

The very good sides have very fast moving defensive lines. Our present pack bar one or two don’t have the speed in their legs to move up at speed
They're always on the back foot as the attack easily gets over the advantage line
If we can start to attack with our D fatigue will be less an issue... That's not to say we can't or don't need to improve our fitness as it too is severely lacking

Then what would you suggest?
There’s really two avenues.

1. Recruit two first grade players somehow and get Bateman playing to the best of his ability. Ceiling is probably around 8th this way.

2. Spend the whole pre-season promoting the narrative that everyone believes guys like Klemmer and Twal are washed up, Seyfarth is nothing but an ill-disciplined liability. Pole & Fainu are over-rated, basically an us against the world mentality so they train the house down and actually come out and play with desire. Personally I don’t think this will get us far, I don’t think our forwards are near as good as the opposition has.

Two brilliant plans right there.

I’m not in for any deal that has JAC coming to the Tigers.
Ok, if Payne Haas or The Fish is coming with him, I’d think about it.
