Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I think there's zero chance Tumeth is here next year i assume his manager has already advised he take up his option we prob pay him out. Matamua is another last year of his contract? He probably goes.
I would love Naden out the door and Klemmer providing we can facilitate another prop otherwise we have to keep him.
Toa i would try and move on and keep Fataape as back up, i think there's a few spots we could open up relatively easily but are trying to move on the higher paid ones first Bateman, Klemmer, Naden Sullivan ect before we move onto others. Its probably going to take time to move on those players there will be some form of heels being dug in, im sure Richo is working like a duck calm on the water but legs moving a 1000 miles an hour.

Which player straight out refused to even entertain signing with a club who were keen on him because of an issue with a former teammate? He had no intention of linking back up with his ex-teammate.

Probably RCG & Luai
Could be Jack Williams and maybe Valentine Holmes?

Skelton played league in the juniors for Albany Creek Crushers in Brisbance until he went to private school and switched to union. Played mostly Sevens in the backs for Australia and had 2 games for the Rebels playing at flanker.

Given the space on the field in Sevens, you need to be a good defender, because a missed tackle quite often leads to a try.

Playing league, his defence has been good. Not sure why you think he isn't capable of playing centre defensively because he played Union. Is it just an opinion? Or have you seen something to suggest he is a terrible defender?
As a union player the Rebels began the process of making him a back because of his excellent defensive skills. The seven’s defence is very very difficult! You cannot be beaten on the inside… teams score quickly and the inside defender needs to work very very hard. They have less time to make a read in rugby than you do in league due to the extra space at the play the ball

I’d be happy enough with Ivan on the basis of a grovelling public apology and an expression of deep regret for going back to Penrith and helping them win premierships.

Which can’t happen because his ego would prevent it.

Before we write him off let’s give him credit for continuing to donate some of his hard earned to our charity. He’s done this quietly and without fanfare. Not stuffing it down peoples throats like others.

Meanwhile, their fans are out of control:

Hastings recently reported staying at the Knights??

As bad as we are, we've been rather competitive against Penrith all things considered.
Yep, Tim’s statement of intent in Bathurst still haunts them to this day. I lived off that for ages.

I was talking about N/A.

I admire the Panthers, but I don’t believe in them. There is a subtle difference.

To their credit, they wisely dispensed with Gus and Ivan has done an absolutely amazing job.

I think no one does everything right or everything wrong in our beloved game.

I’d love to see Nate play union and expand his horizons, even for a few years. Ivan should support his lad.

I live in the Penrith area, so does Nate and its fine but it’s not Monte Carlo.

No way we move Klemmer on. We are already desperately short on props. Even if we manage to Sign 1 we still need Klemmer, unless we sign 2 and there just aren’t 2 better props available.

What charity is that?

Hopefully the rumours about To’o are truE. However the forwards are a worry for 2025 with the loss of Ipap and Steph.
I’ve been enjoying the WT Faithful podcast, with their intel on the development players. Still unclear who plays 2nd row? Sam Fainu will start and should be one of the 2nd rowers. Other options Alex Seyfarth and Bird?
Sione Fainu could be an option at 13.
Pole and Klemmer or Twal to start start up front. With Johannssen and Hunt in the Prop rotation
I would love to’o but not at the expense of signing two more forwards
