Player Dramas in the NRL

If the comment by Leinu to him got 6 weeks, which i'm not complaining about as a punishment at all,
this should equate to soooo much worse than that. Like we talking permanent ban territory. Got to be harsh otherwise players think they are immune.

That's if he doesn't actually go to jail if found guilty

And was driving and had a crash head on , not sure who’s fault but these jerks need to be suspended for 6 months , drugs are Rife in the nrl and they turn a blind eye to it , random testing needs to be put in place with no heads up to clubs when they are going to turn up , the nrl needs to look at this big time
Man , Ado Car , Trel , Smith , these guys have young fans that look up to them , young fans are getting duded following losers like these twats
I agree. This drug bullshit is not on.

What is religion? As compared to the Universe. One is man made the other is not. Im here to learn brother. I have an expiry date. The more I can fit in before that date I am grateful.

Who cares it is not the West Tigers. If they were our players, they would be shouting Ban them or tear up their contracts.

Until high profile players are banned for 12 months nothing will or has changed. Ezra Mam needs to be banned for 12 months and made to get a job as a way of earning a income and needs to also work in a youth drop-in Centre and see what drugs have done to the youth in this country.

What gets me is the revisionist history from ex broncos alumni that’s starting to come out .
“Culture problem at the broncos , it’s not the broncos way “ etc.
Anyone who has lived in south east qld or knows anyone who has from the part 40 years knows that’s bullshit .
These guys have always had the run of the town , the only differences are obvious the digital age , but more importantly people arnt turning a blind eye to “2 broncos players and a girl , some powder , and night club cubicle “ anymore , mainly because they haven’t won anything in 20 years .

The NRL, Clubs & RLPA must do something about it.

The way some of these players are getting caught proves the players just don’t care - the punishment that follows sets the tone for the next wave of kids coming through.

They need to put significant punishments in place to scare off the dumb & self entitled behavior.

What goes in behind the scenes is up to them but to be caught behind the wheel is just next level of stupidity & dangerous.

Is there some private agreement between the players and the NRL, like a wink wink situation that the NRL will overlook the cocaine use, but also say “If you get caught by the authorities though, that’s on you”. It just seems funny that any time a player is caught, it’s by the police and not through random drug testing. I understand coke is out of your system fast, like a day or two, so you’d have to be unlucky getting caught. Kind of like catching a train everyday and the one day you forget your Opal card is the day Cityrail guards are checking that you tapped on. But still, the game is rife with cocaine. And it’s not like players get come down hard on. They get a week. Big deal. Maybe the NRL know it’s impossible to stop, and just feel it’s better to turn a blind eye 🤷🏻‍♂️

Ideally, it's none of the NRL's business (or ours) what players do in their own time. Alas, the way media is today, now it's a matter of the NRL's "reputation" or "what about the kiddie fans". Not much is private now (and don't governments, media and corporations love to pry into people's private business).

If players like the white stuff, if their performances are good and they are not dumb enough to be busted, it should be a non-issue. If they are driving under the influence, then the laws can deal with them. Otherwise, it's their own business, and concerns their their own health.

Many of these guys are barely out of their teens. As the game speeds up, players will be younger, and more crazy. Gen Z is famously bonkers.

But has Mams perfomances been good enough? Had a pretty poor year after a good season, then all this noise comes up...

That’s not correct - there is a leniency policy for first time offenders, and it’s kept in house - 2nd time, it’s reportable….
Unfortunately, it’s policed by the clubs…
Most players know how to work around the ASADA system - They’ve got it down to an art.
I think the clubs only report it, when they ‘need’ to…
