Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Bateman 60/40 in dollar value is roughly - $390K/$260K.

We are willing to pay $400K over 2 years.

So we need 65/35 in Manly's direction...

I don't think they pay roughly $450k a season for him.

Just put him in NSW Cup, he will play up. We pay out like we did for Nofa. $300K golden handshake. We are better off unless we really really need the top 30 spot straight away.
I'm with you... If he doesn't want to pull the finger out and join the Croc roll ... 2 options..

1 stay and play reserve grade
2 find a club that will take you with us paying 200k max..

Balls in his court and I would say you have until this date or back to option 1 and expect you to arrive the 1st day your required for Pre-season.

We do
Need middle forwards more than a prima donna backrower past his best by date who hasnt realised it

We do but what other movements are happening. I would rather pay out a few young unproven players @ $200K each to open spots.

We have absolutely surplus backs now.

Saukuru unfortunately has a 2 year deal but I would guess $400k would cover it. Top 30 spot immediately & less burden on the cap over 2 years.

Until we know the full extent of these Sheens / McDonald promises / deals we won’t know who should move.

You have to think past just dollars and cents. Bateman will be horrible for the culture of the place if he stays. He'll be a complete cancer

Agreed. Triple M just released something from MC. Looks like he will be going.

If Manly need to free a top 30 spot hopefully we land Bullemor on a 2 deal. Unfortunately both Moses clients.

We have to deal with him re Galvin. Maybe Richo can get it done.

3 years for Bullemor I would take. His best mate is also Kobe Hetherington from back in the day. Would benefit us in the future possibly.

I’m getting sick of Manly taking our players like vultures eating flesh from a rotting corpse. They’ve become the new Cronulla. We should have leveraged off Onitoni Large.

When Galvin jumps ship we’ll be the brunt of some very ‘Large’ jibes

comes down to whether you deem Bateman cancerous for good culture. if he's going to be a very loud and negative influence on the group then there's no amount of money you won't pay to see the back of him.

Richardson runs a hard bargain but ultimately he's going to have to play ball with Mestrov on this one.
Thats starting to sound like a breach of contract

Let him rot in NSW Cup and train with them.

Sheens and Benji have done almost as much damage as Cleary with these stupid signings.
Unfortunately we can't just make him train with the Cup team. RLPA will hammer us as it's against the EBA. We can play him there but he'll have to train with the rest of the first grade squad full time, which means he'll rot things from within

😂😂

If your story is true … They are the only two people that would know mid negotiation … why are they talking to you about the current state of play ?
Yeah no agents etc would be involved just 2 blokes at a pub. Lol come.on mate a dozen people would know it's happening. Kade has always had good oil. If you don't believe or awesome keep it to yourself your comments push away people that could have any knowledge.

i suspect he will keep posting regardless of my skepticism..

while I'd love Briton at WT, he's worth a stack of cash on the open market and has turned us down before. I reckon he'd set us back $850k. Pearce-Paul's probably in the same boat.

Nikora's backrow partner Teig Wilton will come a fair bit cheaper, plus he's Bomber's nephew. Ethan Bullemor and Magpies old boy Connelly Lemuelu would also be worth a look.
850k would make them in the top 5 highest paid back rowers in the comp. Neither are remotely close to that

"Manly have halves cover in the form of Jake Arthur, who missed a portion of last season due to stress fractures in his foot. They also recently signed Australian under-18s rugby flyhalf and captain Joey Walsh, who will step into the club’s top-30 roster in 2025, and Junior Wallaby Onitoni Large from Wests Tigers. Incumbent pivot Luke Brooks is also contracted long-term.Sea Eagles coach Anthony Seibold knows Boyd from their time together at Brisbane"

Didn't realise they signed Joey Walsh too,
What was O Large thinking man. Mistake.
I hate to say this.

But if you had a chance to train under DCE, would you take it?

So you'd give up our best young outside back at cup level, rather than proven rejects like Naden and Toa? 🙄

We need to get rid of the proven losers.
