He’s not going to the Roosters
Bulldogs a smokey.

Sexton or not, I get the suspicion they're looking to double-down on their success from this year and try and red-line for an immediate tilt at the premiership. Though, personally, I think they over-achieved in '24 and are more a mid-table team atm.

I wouldn't be surprise to see them dangle 2 years in front of him.

That being said, I can see a world where Broncos and Dolphins are legitimate options too, even if there's current cap issues at the former.

The question is, how much is Hunt worth now? He was on a million at the dragqueens, but is his honest current value that high? Probably not. But still the NRL and RLPA wouldn't let a player drop from a million to 500k just like that.

With Walker out maybe the Roosters have found a way to get long term injury cap relief. Can't believe the Dogs have a spare 750k lying around for Hunt. Broncos or Roosters odds on for Hunt i reckon. They find ways to move cash around.

I think Redcliffe will blow every offer out of the water to try and get him across. I'm thinking $850k.

Apparently there hot for papanhuysen as well...

They don't have much cap space with lots of high contracts already! hammer, herbie, kaufusi, flegler, saifiti finefuiaeki all on 700k-1mil. They're even playing Tupou 500k, and he's unlikely to even be a starter for them. They have Nikorima and Katoa signed up long term too.

But if they were offloading someone they have some good forwards and backs i'd gladly take.

I think that's the figure. Somewhere between 7/800k.

He's still an Australian and QLD squad member and a starting half.

I'm always dubious about the Dogs' current cap position, but I can't deny that Gus is a book-balancing expert...

Still, one step at a time. Getting such a warped roster fixed will take effort. Hope Richo can take the pressure at his age. I'm an old fart too and would much rather be chilling on the coast than trying to sort the basket case of our club.

Hunt will want to return to SE Qld. Most viable are Dolphins & Broncos. There were murmurings a while back Averillo wanted a return to Sydney and for the Broncos the one who could be released to free up cap is Cobbo.

Paid a fortune for Karl Oloapu bro, one thing that
keeps me mesmerised is how Gus seems to get
guys off & on the books so seamlessly haha 🤮

Why would Hunt want to return to SE Qld? He can do that when he's retired.

I'm certain the only thing on his mind is trying to win a premiership before he retires. That's why i reckon the Rooster for 12 months makes sense, though a Hunt and Townsend halves combo will be talented but slow. Their young half may get some time too.

For the Broncs if Mam is stood down pending his case, then they can use his cap space.
