Jack Bird

Dragons are pushing him out. Likewise Skelton.

You only push guys like that out to free up large cap space.
They will then use this to go for real gun players. Not saying we can't take advantage of this, but we need to keep in mind these are not John West signings.
lol ….. the dogs asked for Skelton back in a swap for JAC … or so the rumour goes .
I’ve never heard anyone talk about jack bird as a reject ….

yep..

You can debate whether he would have been picked anyway ,,,, but he certainly went out of his way to make sure of it!
You do know that the players get 30k for origin right ?
I’m one of the biggest Stef haters on here , especially how he finished the season , but that’s absolute gibberish .
He was trying real hard for origin , but I guess Madge saw what everyone else saw. He’s a flat track bully . And that’s the last bloke you want in origin .

I was sure you were going to compare the playing roster in some way to garbage rather than go down the lack of discipline route.

I guess that leaves the garbage route open for someone else because I'm really fighting the urge to do that. 🤣
The Blue Wiggle was also approached given the average age of our squad. He declined due to watching too many of our games over the years.

is the quote about him wanting to stay recent?

I honestly don’t know
Same it just seems that we have juniors who want to stay only to drag out negotiations to use us as a bargaining chip to then sign elsewhere. He has an offer on the table if I was happy there I would have signed already. Iv no doubt it would be a competitive offer. I'd really hate to lose him.

Shane Flanagan did.

Jack Bird reached out to Benji with a beg. That said, the guy seems like he can play and isn't that big of a reject.

Shane Flanagan did not want him. We don't know why, we can guess. Largely because Center is backed up at the Saints and they rejected Lomax for that spot. ...

Hmm, hopefully Bird is a good reject and not rejected for player reasons.

He wants out… the BS statement he wants to stay at the Tigers is to have storm up the ante
Bingo

Heck, can I blame him. Imagine thinking your best earning days are between 20-30. You want to buy a house in Sydney. That extra 100k could be the difference between being a wests Tigers supporter in Concord or a Wests Tigers Supporter in Campbelltown!

If he wants out he will leave and life goes on. If he stays then hopefully is committed to improving as a player and helping the club improve its position. Quite frankly very over hyped based on what he has delivered so far IMO.

Ok, moving on.
Now I have no idea why the Roosters have ditched Tallan May a day before his new contract was due to start, but assume it will come out in due course. It must be something serious imo.
But that aside, is he worth looking at to bolster our forwards ? If he was good enough to warrant a contract at Easts, that should be more than enough for us.
Or is he like his brother, an out of control maniac ?

Sorry all, I just saw there’s been plenty of comment re May on the signings thread. Looks like there’s a reason he was let go and mixed opinion about us signing him.
Seems like the May boys do all their thinking through their little head !

His teamate gave a good endorsement of him this
evening on the news. Most likely $ related rather
than any off field indiscretion. Roosters are shifty as

Surely not $ on what would have been a signed deal ? And the day before it became valid, I don’t think so.
