Wasn't it last year that Harry said if another sponsor came up, Meriton would step aside. Otherwise, they will do it.

I wonder if Richo has approached Western Sydney Airport to be major sponsors. Pros are it is due to begin operations in 2026, cons is it's government owned.

I find this BYD Roosters sponsorship very interesting...
I'm pretty sure Nick Politis is the largest shareholder of Eagers Automotive who in turn are the largest retailer of BYD cars. I wonder if this is a conflict of interest in regards to 3rd parties and Roosters players driving around in BYD vehicles?
This is a far worse conflict of interest than Rich Digital (Shane Richardson's company) sighing a Queensland Cup player and coping conflict of interest articles for weeks.

We need a sponsor that doesn’t worry so much about being associated with a basket case … but are happy to be a part of a club that’s certainly always in the news getting them major publicity

We will probably release the new sponsors with the New Jersey. I’d say they are waiting to get some shots with Luai in the tigers gear before doing the release.. Will definitely catch some eyes around league

Agree, even considering it’s not arms length. Just like our chairman handing Tigers $1m pa. Only difference , we didnt know what to do with it.

Why would it be a conflict of interest? Its a sponsor of the club. Like any other sponsor. Politis owned City Ford when they sponsored the Roosters. Players cars are included in the cap (over $20K).
Pretty easily forgotten that out last Chairmans' company was also the major sponsor of the Club.
Surely you'd use that as a measuring stick before making COI claims?
Although, I still believe having Lee on the board and a major sponsor was a conflict of interest.

Sounds like this could be a match made in heaven, BYD just as dodgy as the Roorters.
With any luck they both crash and burn.
