Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I don’t think top 8 is out of the question. Looking at last year’s table from 5th spot down with the roster we’ve built I think we’re a chance in all those games. Plus Roosters have lost a lot of players and some people are saying they could miss out on the 8 next year.
IMO, much depends on;
1: Are Olam's knees fully recovered from his opp. and can get back to 100% fitness?
2. Will Sunia Turuva transition to centre?
The back up centres are suspect at this point of time. Bird, Tóa, Feledy?
3. The rest of the team say there is a very good chance of a top 8 finish

From the richo podcast,

Sounds like the Hetherington deal is dead.

They're going to sit down with Seyfarth after Christmas and expect him to extend...

Sione Fainu, T&T deal which will be worked out down the track.
Well Kobe had his chance to sign for a top 13 spot rather than stay where the only hope is a spot within the 17 for the foreseeable future. His choice, WT move on. NEXT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very informative BTR.

Agree with above the Hetherington deal may be dead but I still think we need a lock. Unless Benji has a different idea & Pole or Bird or May are gonna wear the 13.

Great news that Seyfarth & Galvin gonna be spoken to in the future & Sione on T&T until a spot opens up.

All falling into place.

Interesting he didn't mention any 2026 targets.

Pending Bateman really think we need another back rower as a minimum.

The big problem for 2025 is getting so many new faces to gell. History tells me it usually takes 12 months to get a team firing that has a big influx of players.
Hopefully Iam wrong, but I think top eight will be a real challenge but somewhere around 10 th is feasible. Of course injuries, luck and calls will also play a part
All we can hope for is a good, productive pre-season where a lot of combos and working together start to gel. Yeah, only a couple of pre-season games and then into the reality. Sure hope the guys can get it sorted asap.

Mate I agree with pretty much your whole post except you are missing my point. He is not taking an extra day off. He is taking his contractually entitled break.
Yeaaahhhh I know mate, but he is extending his leave on the basis of duties with another club...both parties are digging in. He is buying time so he doesn't have to face the club and Tigers are tightening the noose so he might slip up and create a sackable offence saving the club loads of money.

You mean during the bye week? Surely our coach isn't taking issue with someone going overseas during the bye week when all the players are told to take the week off.
To the other side of the world ? wtf are you talking about . And now you’re twisting the narrative to something I didn’t say . I was saying , he’s been given a lot of rope , he’s used to get home early and often .
At no point did I even reference that the coach had an issue with him going home .
Most NRL coaches would btw . There is a huge difference in spending your bye week in Fiji , compared to spending it in England . It’s a 17 hr flight for starters . That kills most peoples body in which it takes days to recover , sometimes weeks , due to the amount of time zones you’re crossing .
If I was a coach I’d be like “meet them in Hawaii mate . Or Dubai .”
It’s a very long way .
