Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Sullivan and Bateman most critical given they still have 3 and 2 years to run on their sizeable contracts.

If richo can work some magic there, I think doueihi and naden can stay and strengthen cup (as long as naden isn't a cancer for benji)
Yeah good points about Bud & Bateman, priority number 1s to move.

And then AD & Naden open up roster spots for 2026 which we'll need for upgrades (i.e Makasini & co) & recruitment.

This is how I would rank the signings so far

1. Luai ( almost speaks for itself this spot)
2. May ( I regard him as an upgrade on stef)
3. Turuva ( good on the wing but can he make it as a centre)
4. Hunt ( question marks on how many minutes he can effectively play)
5. Bird ( had some injury woes for a while now)
6. Skelton ( unproven but has shown potential)

Skelton needs to sought out defence but he makes 180m and is basically another forward. Rather him then Charlie(can't make a post contact metre) Staines any day of the week

Yeah unfortunately can't see another club taking him on a top 30 contract so why would he agree to leave.
You'd think based on the recent Michael Caryiannis article we pay him out if we have to. We will pay someone out of we have to but I'd say he is near the top of this list.

Would love to know what these younger guys are on surely no more than $150-$200K Max.

Remembering Galvin was $150K last year. Year 1 of a 3 year deal & Moses is his manager.

Yeah I used to read a lot of stat sites. I don’t play fantasy but they have good websites with good current stats and I like to win tipping comps, But since I got sick I couldn’t be bothered spending the extra time. @Tucker and his stat posts have been a good read, I don’t have to do the leg work. Thanks for those to btw Tucker.
It would be good to have GK stats on our current top 30 and maybe the next group coming
through. It’s something I think NRL teams and players could be better at. A goal is worth 50% of a try and the only skill it takes is to kick a ball straight. There’s been plenty of park wingers that have played the top grade bcoz they can GK. Hi Ross. I can’t believe more average players don’t kick more, imagine if Nof GKed at 88%, Ii wouldn’t matter so much that he can’t count.
Saw Makasini kick some top goals from the sideline. B.B. seems to disagree.
Love to see his stats. from H. Matts or other games where he was the kicker?

If we weren’t so tight for roster spots Douhie’s contract is pretty good value for someone with his versatility. Also only for a year. Contracts like his aren’t bad within a top 30 allowing money to be spent elsewhere.

I think our roster is in a lot better shape than it was a year or so ago. If we could move on from a couple of other bad value contracts and get the right replacements in then we are looking pretty good.
I think with our current roster being in fairly good shape, we wont have to offer stupid dollars for 4 years to get new recruits.
More players will want to get on board. This gives us a better chance of getting a) exactly who we want, b) at a fair price and c) a realistic length of term.
