Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

When did this whole “we’re Pascoe and Lee actually the good guys “ narrative start ? I’ve seen it 3 or 4 times in the last few days .
What the actual ….. Some people are hilarious in their constant desire to be edgy and contrarian …
It’s not that contrarian to some. They were protected for years on here, especially Pascoe. Even those who started the petition which led to their demise used to defend them quite staunchly. The mob really turned on them only a couple of years ago.

centers are definitely still a question mark heading into the season…leading contenders are Olam with his bung knees, and unproven Turuva …. Then we are back into the also rans of Doohey and Toa ….
Agree. The hope is Olam cements his spot post-surgery. But by midyear we could potentially see a wing/centre combo of Skelton, Turuva, Makasini and May which is exciting.

I actually still think Olam can be a contributor if he is now recovered from the knee issues …. I recall Richo recently saying he was training well or some such…hope that is correct …

Hey tigerdazz, you should try the chew n spew at the taree service centre, you might re-evaluate port and Goulburn
I live in the area (20km N/E of Taree) I avoid the Taree Service Centre like the plague 😂.
I'd rather walk in to the old Airds Pub or go for a jog in Claymore (used to live in Bradbury) than go anywhere near the Taree Service Centre.

I don't even take the Taree exit, especially after dark. I'd rather take the Cundletown or Coopernook exits, they are closer to my joint anyways.

There was a couple of guys yesterday, and to be honest I misinterpreted your tone , as I thought you had jumped on that bandwagon aswell . Clearly not .
I think Richo has done a great job in this first year , at the very least the vision is 💯 clear to everyone , and transparent .
The comment about the spine , was a little bit OTT , but to be fair I’ve also seen 3 or 4 spine rankings from various media outlets since then , and all of them have the tigers spine in the top 5 , some top 3 .
So , as yes he shouldn’t have said it , it’s not a crazy thing to say really . Stupid thing to say . But not crazy !
It’s crazy when you think how far the spine has come . 2 years ago we were trotting out Guys like Wakeham ,Laurie , Hastings and a past it Smith . Chuck in everyone’s favourite Luke brooks , and it’s crazy how far we’ve come .
They just to get wins now . The team on paper really is top 8 . IMHO it’s better than the bulldogs , it’s better than the roosters , and it’s better than anyone else who didn’t make the 8. But sport isn’t won on paper , so we need to get our shit together . There’s really no excuse anymore .
And I know you’re not a Benji fan , I get it , he got the job through nepotism, But we need him to lift and be a decent first grade coach , because if he succeeds we all do .
And god it would be good to go to the SFS in week 1 and host a finals game .

Who cares??????
Contracts mean nothing these days, players break contracts all the time.
He is with us now so it’s up to the club to preform so he doesn’t need to sign anywhere else.
If contracts meant nothing, Galvin would be gone. Contracts mean a lot if clubs have backbone. There would be no circumstance where they would release Luai without a clause.

Not delighted ,but both contracts are fully understandable given our circumstances as 3 times wooden spooners.
Its totally up to US..and that includes those two players...to change that
Weve given ourselves every opportunity to succeed with exceptional talent..we need to do something with it

The only time i advocate putting someone on ignore is if the person is consistently belligerent or abusive. For which there are a couple of great examples, which I’m sure people could figure out who they are. If you’re gonna put someone on ignore because you can’t handle their opinion, then that feels a little precious
There's no obligation on anyone to read anything anyone posts.

I’m glad I could set you straight then about Lee and Pascoe …

In respect of Benji I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again now …. There is no bigger name from the Wests Tigers club, and no person I would enjoy more having success in the coaching role …

I just think that he was a bad choice to coach this team through this time given his lack of coaching experience …and I think the chances of him succeeding next year are not great… he really has to have success next year he is going to continue …my expectations are not massive ….10 wins

Wind-assisted but it looks probably he'll break 10 seconds soon enough, 17 years old in a few weeks.

yeah …was wind assisted…

He is an exciting prospect…. You can see he has plenty left to improve on …his start was nothing great …. I suspect the 200m will be his main event

Mate …I’ve been down that rabbit hole three times already about the contract leaking …no one is ever going to know with certainty who leaked the story …
I'll repeat what Pascoe told me a few years ago - if you hear anything about contract negotiations in the media it's the player manager not the club. He said the club gains nothing from those details being aired because it only complicates roster development for the club.

And why do the agents do it? Because it lets them set a public narrative to pressure the club. There's always an obvious angle for the player manager if you read an article carefully.

I saw all the videos earlier in the year, but I read an interesting article on him yesterday that he is naturally a toe-runner so they've had to teach him to get his feet flat so he can start better. He has also decided to start with both knees on the ground, you can see it in the video, which is unusual but easier for the way he moves.

So apparently his starts still need a lot of work and he's super explosive after 50 metres, which is why he might favour the 200m like you say.

Saint, Sinner, Shoosh: Tigers set to tie down Galvin on whopping deal

How the Wests Tigers will spend the John Bateman money, the clubs interested in Roosters star Brandon Smith, and possible State of Origin changes. All that and more in Saint, Sinner, Shoosh.

The Wests Tigers’ bid to retain Lachlan Galvin on a long-term deal could be given a helping hand as English forward John Bateman edges towards the exit door.
Galvin has another two years remaining on his contract with the Tigers but the club is intent on extending his deal in a bid to ensure he doesn’t head on the open market, where he would command plenty of attention from the Tigers’ rivals.

Batman’s future could have an impact on those plans.

The English international looks set to join South Sydney, where he would be reunited with his former England coach Wayne Bennett.

That would free up a significant amount of money for the Tigers, which they could then use to help extend the contract of Galvin, who is with the club until the end of 2026.

Galvin was one of the shining lights for the Tigers last season, only suspension preventing him winning the Dally M rookie of the year award.

He has upped the ante this pre-season, smashing his own records in fitness testing in a sign that he is not resting on his laurels.

The arrival of Jarome Luai shapes as the other big lever the Tigers will pull in their bid to retain Galvin given the pair have the potential to form one of the most potent halves combinations in the NRL.

Luai has signed a long-term deal with the Tigers although he has the ability to leave after the 2026 season, the same time Galvin comes off contract.

The Tigers will do everything in their power to convince the pair to stay well into the future as they look to build the club around a pair of playmakers capable to stacking up against any in the competition.

I wonder....
There is a power struggle at board level and i get the feeling shane r looking bad would be good for a certain side.

Wish we had a clause that got rid of Bateman without it costing anything.
