Statement from the Holman Barnes Group Board

The Holman Barnes Group emphatically rejects claims made by the Sydney Morning Herald about its
intention to move away from the Wests Tigers. It is untrue.

Holman Barnes Group Chair, Julie Romero, said: “The Holman Barnes Group slogan is ‘be true to the
review’ and we mean it. Our commitment is to the West Tigers and ensuring the Wests Tigers is
positioned for success. Seeing reports suggesting anything other than our total commitment to the
Club is disappointing.”

“We will not be moving away from Wests Tigers and to claim that is fiction. The Group is
disappointed to see damaging inaccuracies reported.”

The Group also notes it is nearing the completion of a process involving a formal investigation by an
external third party and disciplinary hearings regarding alleged misconduct of three individuals who
held directorships on the Board (Directors). Under the Constitution, the Directors involved have an
opportunity to respond to the allegations against them before any final decision is made.

Due to the confidential nature of the process and with respect to those involved the Group will not
comment further until this process is complete and it expects that all parties involved to be equally
respectful.

While this process is ongoing, the Directors in question have been suspended from all privileges of
membership.

The investigation is a Holman Barnes Group matter and does not impact the football department
at Wests Tigers.

Holman Barnes Group CEO, Simon Cook, reaffirmed his commitment to the Wests Tigers and said:
"Holman Barnes Group is a very successful organisation that has had continued success over many
years. We are currently coming off a record trading year and have also contributed to 80
organisations through our provision of over $3 million to the community.
I am confident the organisation is in a great position to continue to grow and provide the very best facilities for our members and guests while supporting our community."
Did they really spell the name of the club wrong in their own press release?

Says it all about their professionalism.

I could not be more underwhelmed by the apparent performance of Romero and Burgess, amazing to think this BS is still going on after we've had an independent review and collected 3 wooden spoons.

You'd think the muppets would have some respect and toddle off into the sunset. Even if they might be nice well-meaning people, we've changed absolutely everything about the club this past decade except the Board. Clearly under their stewardship we've failed and failed and failed, and it's time to give a new set of skilled people a turn.

Let's be direct here. If they were part of the HBG general vote, rather than the debentures scam, they would be long gone.

I bet you they wouldn't accept a payout of the debentures. They love the power that they've stumbled into without merit.

Somehow we need to get that structure changed OR they implement the WT review to seperate themselves. Otherwise there has to be pitchforks from us - the club is no longer their playtoy.

All these old board members trying to stay relevant in life. Should be hanging out at the coffee club or in food courts hanging out and being old and useless.
Isn’t that what’s going on now? Just thinking outside the 9 dots here, but if we could close all the bingo halls in the immediate area they wouldn’t have a meeting venue to plot their next political assasination?

Romero’s put out a statement indicating she’s going to back the review. that’s that. if she backflips her regime won’t survive.

long live Wests Tigers. god bless my Balmain brothers and sisters.
Thank you for this post.
It exposes the true agenda of most of the posters who've been crying for pages about absolutely nothing but a fantasy piece by a journo.
We are the Wests Tigers, not the Balmain Tigers that you, Cochise and others crave.
As an actual Wests Tigers supporter I couldn't be more disgusted by people like yourself who can't accept that times have changed.
I guess Balmain boys really do cry......and cry......and cry.
Hopefully Wests Tigers supporters are made of sterner stuff

It’s simples, HBG just need to implement the review recommendations regarding the new board structure and this all goes away. No more platitudes from the HBG, just get it done. What reasons are there for the hold up?

Gee, there are some bed wetters on this forum. If a typo in a media release is your biggest problem, you're doing OK. The substance of the release is support for the review and Wests Tigers. That's it, Romero has backed herself into a corner. Hard to backflip out of there.

It's so funny watching the " we are Wests Tigers " crowd suddenly changing tune and calling for a buyout and become Balmain. HYPOCRITES.

I have yet to read anybody honestly say they want to see Balmain return, the smart people on here know that both Balmain and the Magpies are as dead as a Dodo.It is however a massive concern when some of the only people who make the decisions for the club are apparently trying to try to bring a deceased club (magpies) into the NRL.

Oh dear. I think you need a big brew of the coffee you tslk about. If he's the problem, then the other two must be a problem too. One of which has more experience in club administration than I've ever seen.

None of the article was about fighting for him.

The evidence is there. Just read between the lines. Julie's message could have set it straight, but it was all non committal fluff.
Andrechios text was non committal fluff as well. He has a " fear" that they want to change the name. How about he actually produces some evidence or provides details of how they are going to do do it.

I think back a few years when only a couple of posters believed the ownership structure and consequential management behaviour would have an effect on the teams performance.
Now after 3 spoons and constant reminders of the circus it’s the posters themselves who are infected with the culture.
This board is determined to deliver us a 4th spoon.
We need to storm the castle!
We need to unite in the fight to save WT.
We need to blow our bagpipes and show our stripes.
At the next AGM.

You need to go back and re read a few of the posts. Just on the name change bullshit - there is no evidence whatsoever that this was actually suggested by HBG. All Andrechios said was he had a " fear" that this is what they want and Chammas jumped on it. Neither Chammas or Andrechios have put forward any evidence to support the claim. Nor have they provided any detail as to how they would do it given that the licence is under the name of Wests Tigers. But as usual half the forum go off their nut over some clickbait.
