No ground rocks as hard as Leichhardt when the WESTS TIGERS are playing competitive football!
NOBODY attends for the amenities - beverage options - vendor services - comfort level - ease of parking/commuting etc - \
It is all about the atmosphere - cameraderie - intimacy (due to the situational proximity to the field) - and just having a bloody good day with people of all ages and demographics who have a shared passion for the WESTS TIGERS! And it is also that atmosphere that attracts away fans - unlike Cambo!
There has also never been a cohort of radical Balmain separatists attending games at Leichhardt who target and antagonise supporters wearing Magpies jerseys!
UNLIKE the informal "WSM Die-hards" group who have a history of harassing and verbally abusing WT fans wearing Balmain gear at Cambo games!
And for the tinfoil hat brigade - note that the team was wearing our alternate primarily black/white jersey for this game in 2005 while playing at Leichhardt...
With all the utter garbage being posted on multiple threads - It feels like all the Magpies loyalists have shit the bed and thrown their toys out of the cot simultaneously....
Hey mate
If there are no personal attacks, trolling or swearingWhat a moronic thread. Best just delete it mods.
Think we are between a rock n a hard place on stadium development,Parra ,Penrith, had heaps just spent .only hope i see for a home ground is 10 yrs time when they start building over farm land on their march towards Canberra and need votesWe need a Parra Stadium equivalent.
1 Home ground, Please
That’s a huge issue for expansion , and growing the tigers brand . The rusted on people like me who grew up around here look at these grounds with fondness and nostalgia , but really , I’m sure there’s heaps of people who would have been keen to go to a tigers game , but they don’t want to deal with these bad stadiums .As an out of towner with no historical dog in the fight, I can say hand on heart…they are both shitholes. No value for money in any respect when you visit.
Now maybe this is due to well over 80% of my stadium attendances being QLD based. I may have been spoilt a bit in this respect…but I really dislike both our traditional home grounds so much that I haven’t been to either in many years.
I agree. This is the way forwardOnce or twice a year at Leichhardt would do. Nostalgia.
A modern facility at Campbelltown eventually makes perfect sense.
Become successful and marketable and the opportunities will flow.
I agree with this as the way forward as well.Once or twice a year at Leichhardt would do. Nostalgia.

Maybe one day.. Went to a wedding at Ingleburn and then reception at Harrington Park last w/e.... Went thru Gregory hills where I recall we had a roar store there... The areas enormous and it ours... Gotta be the future focus while not disregarding Balmain JnrsOnce or twice a year at Leichhardt would do. Nostalgia.

A leagues club like Panthers would be nice tooOnce or twice a year at Leichhardt would do. Nostalgia.

There's just as much crap and animosity comes from Balmain diehards and Wests diehards. And not everyone loves Leichhardt Oval. It's a crappy suburban oval and only slightly better than Pratten Park or Lidcombe Oval.

We just need to become relevant by winning. The Tigers ticket will be highly sought after if Luai and co can bring success. Those crowds then need to frequent the businesses surrounding and make sure they all get behind the club. People (money) will come out of the woodwork if it’s managed well. Then you have some pulling power.Think the thread is discussing if LO is better than CSS…the consensus is they both need major improvement … in my opinion LO in the heart of the inner city and future permanent Greens Federal seat when Albo retires, won’t be getting much more money spent on it after the latest $40m announcement..
If you live in the Campbelltown area and want a Penrith Stadium style redevopment for CSS . start voting against sitting MPs to make your seat a “swinging seat” at State and Federal levels and make the stadium redevelopment an issue in these elections … otherwise don’t expect anything major to happen
