There’s a few . The wests tigers faithful guys had an episode on this recently , I found it very informative , it made me do a bit of research . But it’s hard to get a hold of . Phoenix Godinet is the big one. Gonna be hard to keep him I think .

Updated by not 100% of the Sione deal. I assume 2 years but have just 1 in for now. Also added Lachlan Broederlow's Development deal for 2026.

Geez there is some dead wood coming off contract this year. Great news.

M’am was reckless. Lodge was deliberate.

You could argue the same for Lodge as he was definitely out of it.

Outside of Samuela Fainu, I can't see us paying big money for any other high level 2nd rowers in the coming years.

Richo has always been big on the fact that if you block off the pathway for juniors they will leave and that we need a good group of our juniors to win a premiership.

For that reason, I think he will be trying to recruit a decent 2nd rower for a few seasons to add some depth, but someone that doesn't guarantee selection in that position.

This should help keep the likes of Broederlow, Godinet and Duncombe in our system and give them the proper chance to develop without being thrown into a Top 30 spot well before they are ready.

?? Bird moves to edge … We’ve got some good ones around the age of 17/18. If you can get someone (maybe Bird or anyone really) to fill the void for the next 2-3 seasons , kids like Godinet will be close to ready then . My guess is that’s what the real plan is .
Also defence around the ruck is as our biggest issue and has been for ages. We allow too many teams to control the middle . And that’s not just with thier running game . It’s the wrestling and positional play . Even marker play .

Really we only have 2 options now. Samuela F is 1 2RF...

It's either Jack Bird at Lock and Seyfarth at 2RF.
OR

Jack Bird at 2RF with ... ?? at lock. I mean I would want to keep May as a prop to handle the team transition, literally keep it simple for him. Other then May, the only option I see is Api/Da Silva doing a Lock/Hooker switch throughout the games. ... Ok you could put Pole at Lock with JB at 2RF...

Boy our front row looks light on. We have depth at prop, but nothing outside of that.

How does borederlow go . I’d heard of him , but he wasn’t this elite talent , and now he’s got a NSW cup deal I’m curious . He seems to have taken a leap , but he looks very raw in the pre season photos re. Body shape

That’s why I think they’re looking at hetherington . I’m all for it .

Seems like he came out of nowhere this year. He was strong in the Flegg side. Played some Cup without really standing out but is definitely a slow burn. Some potential there from the bits I have seen. Must be impressing the coaching staff too. Needs a couple of NRL pre-seasons and to make sure he isn't rushed up to the NRL team. I think the train and trial 2025 and then Development 2026 is a good call from Richo and Benji.

Behind Sukkar I'd say. Was having a proper look at
him today as I've been fairly critical of him in the past.
Plenty of people want 2 see him given a chance and
he'll probably get another crack in 1st grade this year
if his form in KOE warrants it. He's not small, I was
surprised to see that he was taller & weighed more
than both Jaydn Su'a & Briton Nikora by comparison

Tyrone Thompson, Leo Thompson brother. Played union for lots of years and apparently the bigger talent. Richo should give him a buzz, one a 1 year dev with knights and could be a good addition for cheap

Glad Richo is managing the cap and roster. The next couple of years are going to be crucial for our long term success. Holding onto good junior talent has been a weakness in the past.
