Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

As of this very Minute - He's barely an NRL Player.
A middle forward.

I'll eat my hat if he ever rolls into an NRL Edge forward,
He's solid back up in the middle at best atm.

The logic running out here is mind blowing,
Reserve graders get 20 mins in the middle off the bench in 1 game
We manifest them into International second rowers.

Yes,
We need 2nd Rowers (More than 1, And much more than we needed to give Sione a spot)
How bout we do what the other 16 NRL Clubs do - And buy a couple.
Terrell May was a reserve grader in 2023...

Its interesting that the same fans who hated the International backrowers we did have are also championing our reserve grade middles to replace them.
It might work out...I doubt it though.

We taking bets that's not the case this time next year?

Seems to be some mis-understanding that Samuela was a prop miraculously turned into a decent
2nd Rower?
Played a bit in the middle for Manly in 1st Grade
(Not uncommon for kids coming through - Simplify the role a bit),
and might have also played there in Origin
(Probably cause he can and was the best team option)....

Dunno where it comes from though, He's always been a 2nd Rower!!
And that's where Manly had him earmarked for before we pilfered him.

We're going to need to extract some versatility value out of our fringe forwards next season. The likes of Sione, Johanssen, Sukkar et al may need to play both some middle and edge at certain points for cover.

Seyfarth will be stepping out of that versatility role and onto an edge most likely.

It's going to be hard to fill out our edge stocks with a specialist heading into January.

You're unemployed until you get a job.

There's no doubts the Fainu family have talent.
Time for Sione to prove it to the world.

You like getting on early, Don't you....
Good on you for sticking with it though.

My point was more so that he's still in the middle now, Like he was then.
You blokes are turning reserve graders from the middle to NRL Edge players - Crazy.

Who from where that's the problem so we may have to fill in from internal forwards sure if we train prospects all summer at 2nd row someone stands out.

We've had 10 years of experimenting....
We're chock full of kids who don't know how to win NRL Games.

Sure,
We could strike gold with some more suck it and sees,
Or we could find a target and go get him.

We've released plenty of players this year to help other teams flush their squads out
- Why can't that situation be reversed?

Saw That.... Cannons!!

Couple years (5-6) tackling practice in Ressies he might get a Utility spot somewhere?
He's in an interesting situation..

It seems the powers at the club really rate him,
But a lot of the fans don't.

One year contract.
And we've got players lined up for the halves and to a lesser extent, also in the centres.

Not sure if other clubs would be interested, despite the rumours the dragons were keen.

I think it's a make or break year for him, and possibly his last in the NRL (if he doesn't really stand out)

I think a fresh start in England, may be on the horizon. It's completely up to AD though....

Personally, love to see him really improve defensively and become a powerhouse lock.
