As someone who was born after the merger I have only known the Wests Tigers. I have never felt anything towards the Magpies or Balmain. If this "split" did happen by some miracle I would support neither team.

I feel for ya … you are about to get run over by senior citizens…

Unfortunately your generation are probably in for a lifetime of the same in matters going a lot beyond your football team…

Never fear, split won't happen. Shit stirring and fear mongering placed on top of actual good points within our governorship that requires fixing i.e the indentureship holders having way too much power and influence in the Board both in its make up and decisions.

I have no issue with the current ownership setup as long as there is separation between the boards of the owners and the Wests Tigers, I have stated this many times in the past.

The previous board at the Wests Tigers was failing the club massively, the inability of the club to set and stick to a strategic direction was a major issue for the club.

You are very happy to have a crack at guy like Gary Barnier based of the few articles you have read about him but claim to not have enough information on a guy that has been a director of the HBG for 20 years and on the Wests Tigers Board throughout our decade of failure.

I actually thought you would hold Gary Barnier in much higher regard considering his history with the Magpies and everything he still does for the Magpies club.

Your disappointment with Richo is that he didn't reply to your emails? Maybe he was too busy signing Luai, Turuva, Hunt, Skelton, Bird and May, along with signing the biggest sponsorship deal in the club history and establishing strategic plan including a reengagement with the South West and a new Community arm of the club. Sounds like a pretty big 12 months to me.
Yes, I am content in 'having a crack at Barnier'...being your unsubtle words not mine.
My words would be more like mentioning what I have read in the media about him, and I gotta say I have seen to many negatives, and I personally will be happy not to see his name connected in any way to our clubs.

You didn't name the director/board person, so I can only assume you mean the most talked about on here 'fall guy' in the history of R.L. being Burgess. And again, I say I have read nothing, know nothing about him except what I read on here ok! So, with this being the Balmain Tigers Forum [BTF] under the heading WTF, I realise that anything I read about him on here is likely to be biased against him, so all I can do is have an open mind re. him and give him the benefit of doubt.

Re. Richo...if he hadn't said I will speak to any MEMBER any time I would have accepted that he may have been too busy doing whatever. But I don't feel it would be asking too much to delegate a junior to send an acknowledgement of receipt, simple.

simply put and 100% spot on.

You obviously skipped the part where he was cleared of any wrongdoing, which is mentioned in some of the article that you would have read. Those articles also resulted in 2 defamation lawsuits.

I would think some of the Magpies legends wouldn't hold your view about seeing the back of him considering he funds their yearly reunion.

I am done responding to you, I am happy for you to continue to attack me but will hold you to account when spreading misinformation about others.

Hi BZN. I note that you have made comment about some historical articles about me that were malicious and subject to defamation proceedings. You might note that after substantial investigations, agreed to by me, nothing was found against me. On top of this I worked for many years post this with the Australian Government on strengthening the aged care sector.

I would welcome you raising any further concerns that you have in the public forum. Meanwhile I look forward to a successful Rugby League season. Best regards Gary

I'll bet you a million $$$ you would secretly love to see your Balmain Tigers jumper back Lestronge.

Your utter dislike of the Magpies is very obvious jirskyr, as it's not just now you have been beating the anti-Magpies drum.
When you have been bothered to reply to any of my posts, it's always been critical.
In fact, I don't remember 1 occasion where any obvious Balmain supporter has agreed with anything I have said.
It's always been the same insulting quote "You just want your Magpies back".
I think you need to accept that fact the Magpies are dead and gone and just move on.

It’s quite alarming that you still try to play this old, tired Balmain vs Wests nonsense and make out that you somehow got the raw end of the deal.

I dunno maybe you should try and work through your feeling regarding the Magpies instead of trying to fight a proxy war against Wests Tigers fans.

Nothing is stopping anyone from being a Magpies fan, they play at Lidcombe oval every fortnight.

But don’t critique or criticise people who love Wests Tigers.

I remember reading a story from one of the guys in the Magpie fanatics that his marriage ended over his obsession with trying to get the Magpies back. Idk how you get so lost over this that you end up losing your wife over it, but this guy did apparently. This was around 2012-2013, and they still haven’t come back. So he sacrificed his marriage for nothing.

I doubt any of it happens, I’m just saying if these things played out the remaining rump Magpies would stand to lose a decent chunk of its support base.
They would lose the majority . Maybe kids from the south west corridor get behind the magpies , but in this hypothetical situation , I can see thier parents being disgusted with the fallout and abandoning any version of the club or iteration out of spite . As those kids parents would be 35 and under , which would have made them 10 when the merger began , and 15 when they watched Benji do the flick pass in the grand final .
A whole generation of future panthers and doggies fans .
It would be one of the dumbest corporate decisions in sporting history in Australia .

IMO , that type of story is beyond toxic . Like your fandom of an entertainment service derailed your whole life . It’s just insane IMO.

The amusing thing was, me being an old Magpie fan, I was in the group. And they hated my guts and thought I was a closet Balmain fan cos I had the nerve to be the only one to say the Magpies weren’t coming back and WT’s were here to stay. Amongst all their fantasising, I was speaking reality and they hated it. When you go against the grain, it doesn’t matter if you are right, if you are in the minority, you are still the bad guy. I also remember the old Magpies forum that @batboy and myself used to frequent and have the same arguments.

It’s the red pill / blue pill philosophy. Most people want to live in the fantasy world of their creation .
