Taking a wrecking ball to the club! (Recent Media Reports)

I totally agree with you. What is a bit annoying is the suggestion from quite a few on her that what was said wasn't credible. At some point you have to take people at face value. I will be shocked if we don't have the independent directors on board by the end of the month. If we don't then forumers should feel free to tear in.
My biggest concern is that there may not be enough quality applicants to produce a quality board. If there aren't, I'd rather delay selection on one or more positions until that quality emerges. I'd like to see some judicious shoulder-tapping as long as that doesn't compromise the independence of the choices.
I’d imagine there would be plenty of quality applicants available. Executive Search/Talent Acquisition companies often tap potential candidates on the shoulder to encourage them to apply if they feel think those candidates meet the skills matrix.

It’s usually a pretty proactive approach they take to sourcing potential applicants, speaking to them about the skills matrix, requirements of the role and encouraging them to apply.

I’d also argue that if HBG as owners were truly worried about quality on our board they wouldn’t have replaced Dave Gilbert with Dennis Burgess. Objectively, Gilbert’s experience and expertise is far better suited to running a professional sporting organisation than Burgess.

I think for me it’s a wait and see approach. I think the fact we’ve got a loose timeframe in place for the appointment of independents is a positive. There was a commitment made by the club and HBG to implement the review in full.

However I’ve been burnt too many times by false dawns, broken promises, and hyperbole from the club so I’ll feel more at ease once the independents are confirmed and announced.

That's the really sad thing about it.

The petitions, especially the second one caused division within HBG and Wests magpies and indeed within the fanbase and are not a majority view.

The disruption/division especially from the second division is actually spiteful.

Multiple times you have said the petitions did nothing & no one at the higher levels are influenced. - yet now you admit they have.

The 2nd petition was launched post the majority of media crap, the various media articles is what started divisive behavior not the petition.

Since the petition being launched the fans have had a statement and Richo lead from the front on a scripted podcast - with an expectation when appointments / what next will be announced.

Guess minority (your words) can influence the board/HBG actions after all.

But we knew that already given the Lee H experience didn’t we.

To roll back something I said earlier as a joke, it’s imperative the club is set up in a professional manner going forward as Richo won’t be here to run it forever.

Let’s see what happens over next few weeks when appointments or what next gets announced. This will give us a sample of the path we are heading at the top. It will take time though to see changes/impacts/influences & the benefits accordingly.

Honestly I hope we see nothing, hear nothing going forward once the new Board is installed. A good Board for me is not newsworthy. I’m sure they are busy behind the scenes but let the CEO be the shot caller and the mouthpiece.

Spot on, the only reason we're moving forward is because we have Richo who has done an amazing job in spite of the rubbish going on. If it's not fixed once he goes were back on the scrap heap.

It’s the impact of an experience leader and someone who has transformed organizations before.

HBG/Board have copped alot and rightly so but at the sametime they should also be recognized for the good decisions they have made - Richo at this stage looks like being one of those.

If we get the right structure and governance established I don’t see why we won’t be successful.

Richo just knows how to lead.

im bloody impressed with how Richo came out so quickly and took control,I havent watched the podcast thing yet, sounds he pulled them into line ,so cant comment(lol).Just seems to me that the threat of the supporters making a noise again, things ,got forced up front, with minimal effort compared to the original petition, guess it will all boil down to what HBG's true intentions are

100% agree - the fact it’s being talked about so much is a problem. This just shouldn’t be a discussion as relevant as it is atm.

The 1st petition was actually forwarded by the club. They could've refused.

What do you believe the second petition has achieved, other than to be seen by the owners and others as spiteful?

Reactions: BZN
It seems to me you are ALREADY trying to absolve the various podcasters of any blame in this latest UPRISING.
My friend BZN, might I just add, that the Wests Tigers Faithful (WTF) is the one podcast having not contributed negatively to the current ongoing situation at our great club. A totally independent and friendly bunch that are the kind of blokes you never regret having a beer/bag with. Unlike Magpies1963.

Not to subtract anything from your very valid points, just wanted to point that out.

its also got to make them release that as united supporters we can take a long term strategy with good voting numbers to destabilize and dethrone them from their positions that some seem to abuse
