Ignore function question

Pretty authoritarian stuff.......IMO much worse than the the old Willow days. Willow never curated what particular people could see.

Do they themselves (the ignored posters) know theyre on ignore or are they unaware?

Yea they did that when Tucker and I were going at it one day. I would have appreciated a message letting me know. It was only temporary to let us cool down, and it worked, but I was confused at the time.

Sometimes when the sniping and derailing is simply too much, a forced mutual ignore gets the forum back on track. It's pretty boring/frustrating to wade through pages of arguments, or stupid one-line comments. We (moderators) try our best to keep on top of things, but as I've said before, we are only volunteers, we all have other commitments, and we don't own the site, and have rules to follow as well.

My father was partially deaf in one ear from WW2 explosions and whenever my mother was trying to argue with him he would just turn his head and pretend that he couldn't hear her.My excuse is a lifetime of listening to loud music and i certainly have hearing loss.
Unfortunately that does not work on reading stuff on the internet

I got a mutual ignore in a match day thread with
a friend on here- we were going back & forth with
one another over some BS. I noticed it a day or 2
after & asked demps to lift the block, did it str8 away

I think that’s just from being young. In most cases the older you get, the more you mellow.
 
I’ve noticed that a lot of users who haven’t been online for a while no longer appear registered. For example, Earl. Is there some statute, where if users don’t log in after a certain amount of time, their account gets purged? Seems unlikely they are coming back to delete their accounts.
 
Can we bring in an ignore thread ,that we have no acess to view in anyway under our registered name for a couple of days, unlike the bogus ,if you don't like it put me on ignore.Some threads at times get bogged down with polite (under the rules) tit 4 tat that can become that mundane ,while trawling for a few gems of sanity, amongst the madness it can fan the flames to a pile on due to frustration.
