I think there was a case to take the role off Api completely. Not as a demotion, but just so he can focus on his own game. His discipline has been atrocious at times, and I think you could put it down to him trying to hard to be a leader. I think Luai is more naturally suited to the role. As it is, maybe he will feel bit of a weight off with Luai out there.

You're making too much sense mate he looked jaded towards the end of the season playing hooker and trying to lift the team draining.

Yeah he was exhausted by the end of the season but the effort and intent were there. Had to organise the attack, was our main creative player, played a combo of hooker and halfback really, plus led the line speed and kick chase.

I wouldn’t take the captaincy off him. I thought he was just tired from doing too much. It’s good that Luai is here now to ease the pressure of him and help lead the team.

But agree with you could see it was draining.

I have run my eye over the two captain's announcement. The undeniable conclusion I have come to is that with Api suspended for game 1, there is a distinct possibility that Jerome could well lead the team out in his first game in Tigers colours!

We desperately needed Romey as captain! Don’t get me wrong, Api is a great player but I reckon he’s too soft spoken at times especially challenging ref calls. Jarome on the other hand will be in the refs ear all game and will challenge everything. That’s exactly what we need. He also demands perfection from himself and his teammates allowing us to rise to another level! Perfect captain choice 🔥🔥🫡
