OFFICIAL Adam Doueihi #227

He gets a lot of flak around here, but I love him. Best centre we have in the club. I hope he gets that contract extension after Round 7.
Now Olam has gone, yes. He is the first centre picked which is sad for the club as he isnt a top tier centre in the game. And its really the only place in the team for him. If Toa continues to develop and locks in the other side the Tigers still need a top centre to be contenders. Tough decisions to be made. Doohey is an absolute must in the team at the moment. His experience and footy IQ makes him a leader on the field for the Tigers along with Api and Jerry, those 3 are the brains trust while on field. The guy just seems to be in control a lot more than other players. That kick back to Galvin for the try was a play many others would not have pulled off. I even saw him put his shoulder into a few tackles today. The guy has come back strong and is great for the club to be hanging around.

He has always sounded like a fantastic person. His body has struggled, but the intensity of his competitive nature, his need to win it himself has let him down.

He is a highly talented footballer who as harsh as this sounds could be elite if he truly understood that he is at his best when he is setting other players up, and tackling with his entire body committed to the contact.

I find it refreshing in this day and age that Adam is prepared to put himself out there. He is a devoted Christian and family man and isn't afraid to let people know. You won't hear Adam say, Í'll leave it to my manager''. He is forthright and believable. Kinda reminds me of when The Crow agreed to coach the eels with just a handshake agreement rather than signing a contract with multiple get out clauses. I fear those days are long in the past. Thanks for being an upright individual AD.

I’ll admit that I have always thought he was over rated by our fans.
Good solid player, but no superstar and a pretty ordinary defender the whole time he has been here.
His injuries only fuelled this and I really did not think he’d be back competing after his latest. Sitting out the end of 2024 however made me think he was getting right for one last charge this year to the point that I actually had him at centre for round 1 back in January.
His leadership is invaluable.
He seems to have gotten his body right too as he was awesome in the second trial at halfback, held his own against the Knights and was very good today.
Good for him, hope he keeps it going.

Was a fan a few years backs and then became really disappointed in him but yesterday I thought he got some of that form back - showed desire and commitment and holds his position in my team.

He is holding his own defensively and making some very good reads so far this season. Hope that part of his game stays true all season.

Attack wise if the halves and Bula can create space AD will create chances.

Thankfully he has lifted his game from his trial performances, to put in much better efforts in the opening competition matches. On top of that, his goalkicking keeps him in the side as long as his defence remains reasonable.
