Caringbah De La Salle all the way!Gymea Gorillas?
Yep, there's nuffink wrong wiff a sunburnt country or a land of sweeping plains, of rugby league red rangers and The Tigers from Balmain.2 great posters. They dont talk shit. What makes it real is that they acknowledged each other. Full of Love. And Evolution. In progress. Better than talking about climate change. This is real.
Dorothea Mackellar with footy studs! 😉Yep, there's nuffink wrong wiff a sunburnt country or a land of sweeping plains, of rugby league red rangers and The Tigers from Balmain.
Though MacArthur holds many splendours,

My Magpie thoughts will fly.
Carty's defence improved as he matured as a player. He would be a good get for a year, two at most.Has Cartwright’s defence improved? He used be great at offloads but a defensive liability
Did it?Carty's defence improved as he matured as a player. He would be a good get for a year, two at most.
If the front office is serious about this season, we will have a prop, 2nd rower and centre signed sooner rather than later. Obviously depends somewhat on Olam's medical retirement.
The point was that as he matured as a player he went from a low of mid 80% to averaging 90% over consecutive seasons. Even last year he was just below 90%. He was also pretty good in defence when he first came into grade and went downhill a bit at the Titans.Did it?
His tackle efficiency in 2024 was the lowest it had been since 2018....
Very, very talented player early in his career. I remember when he was the next big thing. 'certain Australian and NSW captain' they said. The point was that as he matured as a player he went from a low of mid 80% to averaging 90% over consecutive seasons. Even last year he was just below 90%. He was also pretty good in defence when he first came into grade and went downhill a bit at the Titans.
On the other side of the pill he still has a mistake in him with ball in hand. I feel there is more upside than down with him though. He has experneice and is proven NRL quality that wouldn't break the bank and would shore up our depth.
Tbh I’d be going depth on deals for this year and max next. Can’t see us signing anyone at this point in the season that will improve our first team. Jacob host I think we’d have a chance of getting from Bunnies. Cartwright potentially. Unsure on middles. Nathan Brown or Tapau possibly? Can you name them please ?
Less concerned with centres. Not because we don’t need an upgrade - we do - but if we can’t improve our starters we do have enough depth to be able to cover injuries. Can you name them please ?
Kautoga and Tuilagi would have to be a couple of the worst defensive second rowers currently in NRL rotation.Interesting Ryles currently sees Kautoga as next man up in the backrow behind Lane and Williams right now at Parra. He'd be certainly in the frame, if not pairing with Sam Fainu at WT if he was patient, put his head down and knuckled away. Obviously at the time he saw a road block in Bateman, Papali'i and he sat behind Blore too. Ran off to Canterbury who put Preston and Salmon ahead of him, and then Hayes on the bench. Has an opportunity at Parra, but in an abysmal team at the moment. Can't be good for his future.
Kids these days. They want everything yesterday, and think they're owed it. Scurry off to their manager to find them a better opportunity. Come to think of it, probably better off without this type of player. Melbourne players appear to understand that they need to do their time in lower grades before they can become an NRL regular.
Engadine DragonsGymea Gorillas?
certainly think he can play but unfortunately he's locked up until the end of 2028. Melbourne clearly rates him.Doubt we’d get him for this season but I think Joe Chan at Melbourne would be an upgrade in our backrow and can’t see him getting a spot at the storm behind Blore and Katoa.
I said kids missed out,Caringbah De La Salle all the way!
Get Tim Johannsen in the FG team ASAP! This guy is an absolute weapon. Had 18 hitups, 152 metres, 70 post contact and 23 tackles 0 misses. Few offloads as well if you don’t mind in the trial! 2nd fittest player at the club behind Galvin who is a fitness freak! I would have him starting with T May at prop. Great play the ball speed as well, even wouldn’t mind him at backrow - he plays better the more minutes he gets! 🔥
Thanks for the list. Can anyone comment on Kurt Morrin? Always thought he was a goerSecond Rowers of note who played Cup this week:
Jacob Laban, Michael Chee Kam, Mavrik Geyer, Harrison Hassett, Jacob Host, Dylan Egan, Jermaine McEwen, Ryan Matterson, Kelma Tuilagi, Bryce Cartwright, Charlie Guymer, Kurtis Morrin, Joe Chan, Jeremiah Nanai, Jamal Shibasaki and Jaiyden Hunt.
Most of those don't move the needle but there a few young guns who should definitely be looked at. Would love McEwen from Newcastle, he's an absolute gun and stuck behind Lucas, Pearce-Paul and Elliott at the Knights.
