we saw the club tight lipped about luke l.....probably the same issue

I'm in the industry, so this isn't some random nfi " oh they'd only cost a dollar from China ".
I could buy a cap imported from China and have it embroidered here for around $15 tops. I might add my margin of say $5 . . . . so $20 cost all up.
I could have them made complete in China for say $9 odd incl shipping . . . slap $4 on for gygt, and we're at $13.
I get that there's royalties and licencing fees and such, but $50 !!!!!!!!!. FMD.

You want an authentic Yankees cap? It's New Era. Believe it or not, we were paying more for fitted caps back in the day.
The quality is high.
They're much better than the Steedan caps.

Agree mate, the quality looks great. Without holding it my hands and feeling the fabric, seeing the attention to details, etc . . . you're still only adding $5 max for premium quality.
But I get that it is what it is. When I take the wife to see a band or an artist, I still line up to pay $70 for a T shirt 😢

Years ago, Australian culture did not extend to embrace baseball caps.
Back maybe 27 years ago, the first caps imported were the trucker caps. We laughed at them, coz they looked as they do, and the connotation was that they made you look like a sasquatch hunter named Cletus.
Could barely give them away.
Nek minnit ( well, 20 years later ) . . . . they be a fashion staple.
