FOX NEWS 500 - Press Conference 11:45am

Benji was great in my opinion - he is a sincere dude who wears his heart on his sleeve and isn’t afraid to show it. He came across as caring but with a job to do for his club. Could not ask more from him.
Luai and Api spoke honestly and clearly and showed support for their coach and team.
Overall went pretty well and did their best to shut things down and move on.

I'm on the road please tell me there is no talk of releasing Galvin . They need to make him see out his contract it will be the best thing this kid could ever learn.
Talent is not the only thing that builds a successful career and the only reason he is getting any sympathy is because of that talent everyone wants a piece of it - otherwise no one would give a crap about any of his so called grievances. Man up kid.

No suggestion of a release!

You hear some pundits talk about lack of player leadership at certain clubs, eg. Parra, St George, Newcastle, etc. The 360 crew, like them or loathe them, talk about it a lot. Well no one could say that about Wests Tigers. It’s clear there is strong leadership amongst the player group, and not just Jerome and Api. May, Pole, Bird even Douhie bringing some of that.
Jerome just proved why he is the clubs most important signing since Scott Prince!

I doubt he sees first grade again, even though Benji has to say he is eligible for selection each week.

The players though, can say whatever they want. Pretty clear the playing group don't want to take the field with him.

Does anyone now think that Benji won't make it as coach, could he have done that press conference any better, no was handled like a veteran well done Benji.
Joey John’s said it best;
340 NRL games
Premiership winner
Single handedly won NZ a World Cup
Golden Boot winner
One of the best of his generation

Who would bet against him making it as a coach. And who is a 19 year old with 30 NRL games (courtesy of Benj) and a wooden spoon on his resume to judge. Or a player manager!

if there's anything I took from that, the playing group is pissed.
Jarome made it very clear where the line has been crossed and that is the disrespect to the coach and team.

He was forthright and articulate.

Luai on Galvin returning to the NRL side:

“if he’s in the right mindset, if his heart is in the right spot and he deserves to wear the jersey, then by all means”

I think Api and Jarome handled it brilliantly. stood tough, held their ground.

you can tell Benji is hurt by Lachlan's words. that showed today. he was strong, but he is definitely wounded. despite all of that, he still managed to defend a player that has attempted to trash his reputation with the help of his manager.
