I doubt that a cat will ever have a place in my home, though the right ones are easy enough to like.
I am currently caring for my 92yo mother and my sister's cat to allow her a break, and whilst the uncut he isn't a lap or cuddly type, once we got past who was the dominant one in the relationship a long time back, he since comes looking to get the the occasional petting and comes when called.
