OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Bulldogs & Parramatta are the most talked about destinations for Galvin.

Personally I'm still surprised the Sharks are not mentioned.

Topline, respected coach
Squad is in contention most years
Good forwards
Great area to live
The halves are all upgradeable

Galvin would be far closer to success at the Sharks than the Eels, and I'm not sure how he fits the Bulldogs defensive mindset.

Other than me, I don't think I've seen the Sharks mentioned once- but I swear if he is leaving for his career development- they might be the best fit.
Sharks have 2 quality halves..dont need him
Think Eels were his de$$tiny, but Dogs cld snare him based on relative performances of both teams
Candidly, Ill be happy to see the end of him

He has 10 Dally M points, the same as Bula.
I personally dont see it, but yes, people think he is playing ok.
I'm a firm believer that a lot of those points are allocated more often than not on reputation or the current hype.

When do you actually see in the media that Galvin had a bad game or that he made mistakes or he has a lot to work on?

All you see is them gushing over the kid and in the longer term this may be very detrimental to his development, which I couldn't give a shit about, especially if he is at the Dirty Dogs or the Slimey Parasitic Eels.

This will astonish you...but the media has agendas wld u believe...they need something to write about, plus they need to pander to certain "personalities" who can influence their future info flow,or even their career!!
Apart from expanding way to quickly this is VLandys biggest single shortfall
Gould needs to be out of the media,Moses needs to be out of the game, and Politis calls to HQ need to be blocked
Thats just a start
Then shirtfront RLPA who make player transfer windows so challenging, and totally unrewarding for the development club
And have a crack at the draft again AFL style(legal precedent there) so so the strong clubs dont keep adding talent like Storm
Off my soap box now!

The timing of this is interesting. We play our last game in a 14 day break this Sunday.
It is about 6 weeks out from the June 30 deadline.
Monday is the first day of our bye week.
Latu should be back fit come our next game.
The board can meet at anytime really to discuss Galvin with Richo.
However doing it on day 1 of our bye week is intentional and could possibly lead to an immediate release.
Say the following scenario plays out.
1. Nothing comes from it, everyone has a break and gets back to it.
2. Galvin and his management is offered immediate rights to negotiate a new deal for 26 meaning can sign after the 10 day right of reply window.

How does the 2nd half of the season play out? Is it any different if they were to make a decision regarding all this at the end of the season. For mine, no if the intention is to keep Galvin in the top spot for the remainder.

I still think say nothing until October 30 and release Galvin on that day. Ridding us of next years 350k deal and removing us of the who will he sign with drama allowing the preseason to start fresh without it.
Yeah, nah!
Let him be our lacky, keep him for the duration of his contract as backup. Don’t let him and Is-sac win he is not on much money, so no loss if he has to play in reserve grade or at lock.
We can’t keep buckling every time some toe rag player/manager applies pressure. Otherwise it will never stop.
Who gives a fack about the media’s thoughts they hate us anyway, just show some balls for once!! Appease your fans not the other pelicans!
Simples, we can’t get a backup half for the cash that turd is on, and there’s not many available.
I also don’t believe the narrative that the clubs do the same things as managers/players. Players can refuse to go if they want aka Packer. It’s up to them, not the same as players agitating, tanking and using the media to suit their agendas.

Good post @clontarfkid

Only thing I question is whether the Storm is the club to name re adding talent; I think they are rather a club that - through having players successfully fulfilling their own role as a "link in the chain" - makes a lot of ordinary players become very good players.

The club has sights on top 4 next year. I don’t think Latu or Bud take us anywhere near those heights, short of a miraculous form surge.
I think Latu (once fit) could do a good enough job, as the player he currently is, to get us into the eight. This year.

Beyond that, with time and development, chasing top 4 is well within the club's capacity with Latu at half, provided the club, and particularly the rest of the squad, continue to grow and change for the better I've the next 12/18 months.

The issue with getting to the top 4 with Luai and Latu is our kicking game. That's the only thing holding them back. Latu without a single doubt in my mind improves our attack enormously compared to Galvin. He will free up Bula and Toa so much along with his right edge backrower. Only time will tell, but mark my words, 4 games straight in the 6 jersey and you will see Bula and Toa destroying teams off the back of Latu's ability to open up space for outside men.

Sure for this season. Yes. But just like how the Roosters gave Terrell a call saying he wasn’t wanted at the last day of last season I say we do the same with Galvin.
Ultimately it all comes down to how the current team has been evaluated with Galvin in it and whether he is needed for the 2nd half of the year.
Basically I’m saying if the outcome of the meeting is that Galvin and his management have the opportunity to negotiate a deal for start of 26 before Nov1 we won’t hear the end of release options.
Maybe a better statement might be to grant a release for the 26 season and allow early negotiation from July 1. Meaning there is no talk of an early release for this year and it gets sorted through the origin period and it’s back to business for the back end and it is respected fully closed at the end of the season.
The other side of it is, they could be considering using Galvin in a potential swap deal.

The club may have received an offer which Richardson is required to report to the Board. By announcing the agenda item as part of the meeting, interest in Galvin from other clubs could occur which may result in the club receiving better compensation via competition. Imagine the Eels and a few other clubs having to negotiate with Richardson for a deal.

If the club wants to gain something substantial out of releasing Galvin, they better act quickly. His value in the market place must be on a rapid slide as clubs become aware he is a long way off the real deal and potential is not worth a million dollars a season.

Like others I hate seeing Moses once again screw us over and win and would rather see him rot in reserve grade for a year and a half but in reality that doesn’t help our club to get stronger and more competitive. I think the bye round will see plenty of things happening around Camp Concord and let’s hope it’s positive
This has to be the last time Moses bends our club over the barrel, another thing that should be discussed at the board meeting is tactics to dig this tick out of our side soon as we can once and for all.

How do we do it without losing Bula and Godinet I have no idea, approach from management will probably cause resistance, maybe a player's influence could work.
If we can't find a way find out early so we can plan for replacements as we need them.
Ridding Moses from your club has to be done, Easts laid the blueprint all over clubs should do the same.

Edit not all clubs will fall into line there will be a couple that will be completely controlled by him, to their peril

An offer? From another club?

That’s clearly based on hope rather than actual data though.
