OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

If the club has agreed to release him prior to June 30 Galvin should not be near the team at all now , should be training with reserve grade specially for the practice game they play , Seyfarth job , smash Galvin , just smash him , then first game we play against Galvin again Seyfarth to smash him real good , did not red than Sam F side on hit

People hope there will be a lot of clubs after him to make it better for us but there is no way he doesn't know where he is going. other clubs will know also so won't get involved.
You don't knock back 6m deal and not have a club and salary locked in verbally.

The whole NRL is corrupt and won't change unless it effects certain big clubs.

I hope it's the Eels as Moses won't give him near as much control as Laui / Benji has.

Pascoe 2.0. He will be here until 2026!!
No way, some massive over reactions here. What is the club supposed to do? Sadly his manager is one of the great scumbags who the NRL should've banned for life. Do you keep a player who wants out multiple times and is not that flash? Or do you piss them off to avoid them poisoning the joint and get some cash to put towards a new player or upgrade an existing strong player. Galvin was never going to stick around and to say the club was weak is not true, they tried to sign him, he wasn't keen and is over rated, we move him on, case closed.

The fact is, Luai’s post, Turuva’s post, and May having a go at Galvin when he was addressing the playing group handed Moses all he needed to get Galvin out of the club pronto. They handed it to Moses on a platter, and Moses has leveraged it to his and Galvin’s benefit via a disruptive bullying claim that they have no interest in pursuing as soon as Galvin is released. Luai, Turuva and May gave away our advantage/leverage in this situation. Realistically, getting rid of Galvin and getting a transfer fee back is the best we can hope for now.

I said on this forum many times during the offseason that Moses would be very confident of being able to get Galvin out of this contract whenever he wanted to, and lo and behold he’s done it again.

I prefer Galvin to be gone sooner than later.

It’s clear we are improving but his instability 100% impacts that. Just want it done but we must get the outcome we want.

Bulldogs shift with Woods, Sexton and Burton creates an interesting mix. Galvin plays mostly left same as Burton, he also hogs the ball like a halfback which clashes with Woods and Sexton. So at least 1 if not 2 will be on the market. The Bulldogs cap is hitting high point so maybe Burton & Sexton are asked to move on. Woods they have built hype around and just can’t see him moving on. The other thing is impact on winning, Galvin plays totally different to the Bulldogs structure.

Move to Parra is interesting as to how he fits. Brown won’t play reggies and they have backs. So could mean Knights shift early (they need to release players unless Parra takes cap hit) or they move on a back to get Brown into center.

If a player swap happens it wouldn’t be for this season it would be multi year which really limits the options & one the other clubs can’t force with how the RLPA are setup. But if it did happen could really only be Sexton/Burton/Woods or a Parra Back or KPP comes early.

Be surprised if we get a player and don’t get the compensation benefit on how that helps us out roster wise

Wonder if TDS being dropped last week has something to do with things as well (package deal next season).

The bigger concern I have is halves depth for this and next year. Huge fan of Latu but his body is high risk unless the view is TDS starts and Api at halfback.

IF Richo finds a replacement for Galvin I can see him releasing him for a transfer fee and Bullying claim dropped.
Hard for a player sway as they have to want to come here as well.

I still trust Richo to do the best thing for the club but it won't make everyone happy.

I for one am happy this rubbish is getting sorted, and he is out the door.

The bullying case is what has pushed this in this direction IMO. As spurious as it is it made dropping Galvin really difficult as it would provide more fodder.

The club have been wedged where their only 2 options were really: drop Galvin and deal with this case and all its publicity in the background or get the case dropped, put the ball back in his court by giving him permission to negotiate and make a deal with the prospective club.

Would have loved to see him rot in ressies for the rest of his contract, but could we afford all the publicity and distractions that would come with that?
Nah I don’t believe that . Thats media driven hyperbole.
The issue is like I pointed out on the weekend , the guys don’t trust him .
The biggest case in point was when we were attacking souths line in the first half , the backs were set down the right on the last for a shift , Romeu was at first receiver off the ruck , and Galvin does his own thing , and takes off down the left , for a numerical advantage that didn’t exist .
I think there would have been patience for this stuff prior to him officially wanting out , but there was zero on Sunday night . Romey put in a shit kick to no one , as the backs were too deep to take advantage of any kick , and Romey made the tackle .
He came Out of that tackle absolutely furious .
The drop ball over the line . I mean that’s not his fault , but there would be many a sideways glance . It’s just human nature .

If it’s Galvin to Parra I wouldn’t do the 3 player trade for KPP I’d swap him for Lomax(unlikely) or Hopgood.
When Parra get Galvin they wouldn’t need Brown so they’d want to ship him to the Knights anyway who’d have to free up space by releasing KPP to us.
So a 2 for 1.
