It’s too hard to negotiate , and seriously why would anyone leave the league leaders , unless they were guaranteed an opportunity .
The only players we would want would be players who sit at a certain level . And nearly to a man they’re win the dogs top 17 .
The player they look like letting go is Reed Mahoney . What are we going to do with him ?

Honestly, I’d offer the money earmarked for Galvin to Papenhuyzen and let him pick if he wants the 7 or 6 jersey. The guy has a high football IQ and the sort of urgency in his game we can only dream about. And he’s a wonderful goal kicker !
Sign a Tony Carroll type to ride shotgun with him in defence and we’re laughing.

Sandon Smith...bloody good player. Savala not bad either. Different styles...Depends what you're looking for

are you saying clubs can't just trade players like cattle? Like contracted players have some kind of say

Player swaps sound logical, but it's not up to the club to make decisions about swapping players. The player needs to agree. If Tracey wants to leave because he has lost his spot, and the Dogs are willing to release him, he would go on the market and make his own decision about which club he'll move to.

I still can't think of an example of a simple 2 way swap... I'm sure it's happened, but from the sounds of it, we have agreed to a release...the Dogs don't need to tap anyone to make it happen...

ON a side note, the Dogs may just be taking over his current contract for this year. It may only impact their cap by 1/3 of Galvins 2025 salary...that's like 100k

- Krystian Mapapalangi
- Izaac Tu’itupou
- Jaxson Rahme
- Elie El-Zakhem
- Kurt Falls

Or alternatively our development guys to top 30 for these guys on a dev contract. Don’t rule out any external talent tho

One player , the dogs have a surplus of backrowers and Iam sure one would rather be playing 1st grade rather nsw cup , and only 17 can win a medal

Just to add to this… this was a statement from Gus a few days ago before the Galvin news broke:

"He's still only young, but he's showing really positive signs. We're not rushing him at all, there's no need to rush him - as I always say, the career of a professional playmaker is between the ages of 25 and 35 and he's still SG Ball, he's still 19.

Do you reckon Mitchell Woods is going to be pleased reading this knowing they’re going to give his jersey to another 19 year old and build the team around him.

While other clubs like us can give him the opportunity to showcase himself like we gave to Galvin last year.

I’d be making it really clear if they want Lachie e early we scrap the transfer fee and get Woods to compensate for us losing a high quality half early in this contract.
