Api signs and we lose TDS or Api signs and we somehow keep TDS but lose Hayward. Either way we lose a talented local junior. The alternative is losing Api to hold onto both.
You can spin each scenario is a negative direction, which will happen.
With all this talk about TDS
Has his management at any time asked for a release from his contract ?
Or is this just a reaction from the media and this forum because Galvin has been released.
Api is the GOAT. As Gould would say...watch your mouth sonAs irrelevant as it is to Tallyns circumstances ( why should he care what someone else did ?) …The QLD Origin hooker was behind the goat at the position and was waiting for a spot in the best/second best team in the comp at the time …not the three time wooden spooners .,,
Tallyn will be 22 a month into the 2027 season with likely more than 50 games under his belt … he could have the potential to play 10 years ar the position …of course there is a risk , but what’s the upside of keeping Api for 27 and 28 ? He will be 34 by then ..what are your expectations for him ?
That’s why you make TDS the priority and try to extend him first. Then Api can do Api, as a certain young ego maniac would say.We don’t extend Api and he signs somewhere else and TDS still leaves - can see it happening

Yah - I dunno, we can guess all day how it will play out.Wasn’t there a leak a week ago that Api’s manager come out and asked the Tigers what was happening with his extension as he might want to consider other options ( including the Bears )? He may not be happy with a bench role and I assume being paid accordingly … if he is then great
So correct me if I’m wrong,No …we are talking about his extension which he can start negotiating wth other clubs in November…( officially )

Both API & TDS both come off their current contracts at the same time ?

How old was Cameron smith when he retired ? 37 !As irrelevant as it is to Tallyns circumstances ( why should he care what someone else did ?) …The QLD Origin hooker was behind the goat at the position and was waiting for a spot in the best/second best team in the comp at the time …not the three time wooden spooners .,,

Yeah...his only flaw.I wish he could “referee” games like the other bloke could

But seriously to answer your question, to have to make a call right now is a bit premature on Tallyn 18 months out from his next contract. He just turned 20. He is neither physically ready, nor fit enough to start for us and play 80.
If my hand is being forced at this very moment, I would rather punt on finding a suitable replacement for Api in 2028 with his cap space freed up than going chips in on a long contract with Da Silva before I'd seen the goods.
I take your viewpoint, but it's just how I feel about it.
He might if the club is honest about their intentions with Api. If they tell him from 27 onwards he will be starting, he just might.I can’t see TDS signing first.
