Leadership ? Please mate that’s not true at all. Benji let him back in the side out of fear of legal action nothing more. Yes we beat the sharks and dragons I was at that game live let me tell you they were not “ close “ at all. Benji has been gutless from the start. Even asking Luai to take a back seat to let Galvin have more control is weak, Bateman said last year Benji loves Galvin and treated him special that’s not leadership that’s weak. Benji is and always has been responsible for the weekly team list and he bent the knee the second bullying claims started. Bulldogs copped it last year did they buckle ?? No they said see you in court and kept the sook in KOEExcatly my point. I dont know why some of you think Im blaming the club in isolation. That isnt true at all.
Professionalism has not existed in this whole saga. The player and his manager have been snakes. The club have been overly emotional. The fans have been ridiculous.
The only person who can hold their head up high in all of this is Benji. He is the only one who has been rational, considered and shown leadership qualities.
I remain sceptical on his head coaching ability at this level, but theres no doubt he is a hell of a man manager and an asset. If there was a Head of Football role re-established, he would be a great candidate for it.

Same as Tom.Personally no ..and I don’t notice it done by others outside the examples I have noted above …. I don’t have a lot of expectations though that things will “go to shit” , but I guess it need only happen once and perhaps I have been fortunate
I understand the basic idea of this , but it betrays human interaction and team building by its very nature .This is good practice regardless of the workplace. I have never been a 1st grade player so not sure what I would note. However as both an employee and now an employer I keep notes on just about every interaction. You may never need it but it's invaluable if when you do.
Can you imagine working with that slimy reptile? He'd have to record everything because he'd know full well he's the most hated man onsite and everyone would be out to knife him first chance they got.I understand the basic idea of this , but it betrays human interaction and team building by its very nature .
To say any differently is to not understand human interactions . You can say “that’s the workplace” in 2025x and you’d be right , but straight up if everyone around you knew you were doing this not 1 person would ever have an honest conversation with you . And if they don’t know and you’re doing this , that means every time they have an honest conversation with you , you’re recording it . Granted to protect yourself , but the optics on that arnt good . If you’re doing it because the people around you are rats , and it’s dog eat dog , then that goes to my original point about team building .
For me , I’ve been in plenty of teams where people do and act like you , and I keep them very much at arms distance and make sure I also record the conversations with them .
That surprises me.Same as Tom.

It’s pretty easy when that guy is a reserve grader and squad member LOL . The first thing everyone said when his name was announced was “who”.Leadership ? Please mate that’s not true at all. On this forum - by sum I am considered a slimy reptile. Just ask Snidest. But you guys still work with me. We do have a working relationship - don't we? It is imaginable. I have worked with people like that . I would feed them misinformation , and play games with them . The only real reason to do it is, is because you’re trying to build a case against someone , or you’re in a toxic environment where it’s dog eat dog . Neither of those scenarios are acceptable in the environment like a football team , or section / squad/ detachment in the defence force , or any environment that is highly stressful and reliant on each member being as accountable as the other , minute by minute . Fire fighters , Ambos … whatever . To apply corporate logic to those types of environments just doesn’t work .Can you imagine working with that slimy reptile? Did any of those players stoop to keeping a dossier on the coach and approach management with dot pointsPenrith are a classic example:
Did they [This word has been automatically removed] and whine and start crap on social media and become the number one news article about player riffs and let these players leave early etc...
- in 2021 they were aware they were losing Burton - one of the hottest young properties in the league and Capewell - a very experienced and current Origin player. As well as others including Pangai Jr and Naden.
- in 2022 they were aware they were losing Kikau - one of the most dangerous edge runners in the league and Koroisau - a very experienced and current Origin player. As well as others including Hopgood, Staines, jennings and O'sullivan.
- in 2023 they were aware they were losing Crichton - the best centre in the league and Lenui - a very explosive benchie with SOO potential. As well as others including Hosking, Salmon and Cogger.
- in 2024 they were aware they were losing Luai - a local mainstay, SOO rep and one of the best no.6s in the world and Fisher-Harris - a tough as nails prop and current captain of NZ. As well as others including Turuva and Iongi.
Nope.
They won the GF each year and then got on the piss for a week as they said their goodbyes.

I did it even as a junior trademan. My diary of what Id done each day was filled in as regularly as possible.
Decisions are forgotten months after the fact and you go to sign off or commission your work and if somethings not correct, you can trace back how that decision was made and by whom.
Its an arse covering thing but also something that can help solve issues.
