$50 Million reason Wests Tigers are prepared to quit Campbelltown.

Campbelltown region is the future of the Tigers.

I'm amazed how many WT's fans on here have jumped in excitedly to show their support for WT's playing in Campbelltown.

Campbelltown region is the future of the Tigers.

We should invest heavily in the region and make our club the only team players wanna play for.

Now, when I was a young man there were huge plans for Campbelltown, a satellite city attracting big business/local jobs and housing for young families, the future was bright. Now I really don’t know that much about the area, whether the business has boomed and the local people have plenty of jobs etc. I do have a niece who lives in the area but doesn’t really rate it, but she reckons she’s caught in a trap. I’m not sure the Tigers know exactly what to do ? Obviously with the massive islander population there are lots of big strong young men, who appeal to Benjis master plan, but it always seems a gonna situation. Help me understand what the future holds for the area and whether we play there or just support the juniors there ?

So if Richos threats come to fruition and we get no govt support, we take games away from CSS more than likely to Parra as were already tenants there,,,,by the time 2027 season rolls around which I'd imagine Benji would be hoping were humming and pushing for a top 4 spot by then....we could well be 100% all games at parra with LO outta action for that season

Finally.....one fkn 'home' ground

With record crowds.....

Well I think the Dogs are showing what can happen when a club, starved of success, suddenly hits its straps.
And they are happy to play on a ground that so many on here complain about.
If we could get to even half the numbers they currently enjoy then LO or CSS would not even be mentioned. It would be Commbank overflowing.
IMO we’ve been down for so long we have forgetten what might be possible.

And record profits
It sucks from a history perspective - but it is a compelling way forward for a JV that has been backwards for so long.

Commbank is actually a pretty good stadium. I like it. And if the tigers are humming I can see it being a great stadium with atmosphere to play out of...

Went to Commbank for the first time with the family for the panthers game and loved if. Not a bad seat in the house, great atmosphere! Definitely going back next year!!

After 2005 we should have been fulltime at Homebush. While we didn't have much further success on the field we still had an exciting team and would have averaged well over 20k. I think it would have welded the fan base together a lot sooner.

And Eels are a sinking ship so we’ll be the main ticket in town in a couple of years.

Youre right about it bringing the club together .

I think we will lose Campbelltown for a period of time and then it will force them to invest in the stadium... eventually it will come back to a 3 way split between LO, CS and Commbank.

Probably has to happen .

You not been paying attention much?
Parra were wooden spooners not long ago - and still had better crowds than us and 3 x our memberships - and theirs were real.
Parra fans aren’t going anywhere, they’ve been ordinary for a long while and they’re still got the wood on us

Idk what the fixation is with one home ground. I mean, you don’t want 3 or 4. But there is no reason in a perfect world if LO and CSS were both up to scratch that we can’t play out of both permanently. Proof of that is the Dragons. Never have heard their supporters whine about alternating between Kogarah and the Gong.

Dragons aren't exactly the benchmark

You've never experienced a fortress so you'll never understand

Has any supporter of this club? Or Balmain and Wests.
Magpies didn't lose a game at Lidcombe in 1978 and only 3 in 1979.
I can't be bothered looking up the Ryan years at Campbo but it sure felt like a fortress.
I'm sure Balmain's glory years had Leichhardt as a fortress in the late 80's.
I mean this is all irrelevant to today, but you asked.
It just annoys me when I constantly read on here that both clubs have always been failures. People that have lived a while know that is just incorrect.
