Tallyn Da Silva #270

Or maybe the club don’t rate TDS? I don’t at this moment but doesn’t mean he won’t come good in a couple years. The club has a tough decision to make. Anyways there’s a rumour going around that Knights want him on loan and in exchange we get KPP before June 30
Yeah I heard that.
I suppose that’s a good thing. Our backrowers aren’t playing well.

Why can’t this club just let players wait until November 1 and make them wait out the remainder of their contract like almost every other club. I don’t get it.
The 2 new teams coming in is probably making the market a frenzy atm. I’d say thats the main reason for getting this decision sorted quickly

Read what I said. I feel like im talking to brick walls around here....
Api is our starting hooker in 2025. TDS is his understudy.
Api is our starting hooker in 2026. TDS is his understudy.
TDS is our starting hooker in 2027.
Thats the scenario.
He doesn't want to wait. His manager advised there are 5 clubs keen if the club releases him. There is no qualification about 2027, it is now as per below -

The problem is that Da Silva knows he has the quality to be a starting NRL hooker - but can't achieve that goal at the Tigers, with veteran Api Koroisau is still playing great football for the club, is the team captain and is currently negotiating a new deal.

"We can't talk to clubs at this stage but five have told me that if Tallyn goes to the marketplace, they are keen.

"It's up to the Tigers to decide what they want to do but if Api stays, chances are Tallyn will have to go."

You don't KNOW what you have in TDS, only suspect.

You do KNOW what you have in Api.

If we are playing 5 year plans- then you go with TDS. If you expect to be challenging now, it has to be Api.

If TDS is putting the 'him or me' argument forward- he hasn't WON the job off Api yet. You don't get to make that demand from a losing position.

No we don’t know … but these are the decisions the club has failed in the past and need to get right … im concerned they are letting a player with a lot of potential go to keep a 34 yr old that probably won’t be around much longer ..

Why would he wait ? People here saying that the next in line Haywood is who the club really wants to promote a few years down the track

I like the idea of loaning TDS to the Knights tor the rest of the year. If he plays well the club may change its position and if he plays badly, that could make the decision easier.

But if the Cowboys want to pay $650K and he was my son I would tell him take it

And from a Tiger's point of view we need experience in the spine can not have 3 rookies and Luai running the show it's just bad timing
What are the tigers offering, 500k?

The 75k extra after tax is hardly worth having to live in Townsville (no offence to any of you up that way 😅😅)

Good luck to the kid. I don’t think he is 1st grade ready but will be decent in a couple of years. He wants it now and that’s cool. If he has done it the right way and the club are cool then all the best.

And if we get kpp for this year as well the super.
