Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Not sure if it’s the fault of Benji and the game plan or otherwise, but we have been getting our fair share of good field position and not converting it into points, therefore I’m guessing Benji wants to take this opportunity to try a fullback with a little bit more playmaking ability see if that can connect with our halves and convert good field position into a few more tries.
Of course it’s a risk as we all know Manly will target Mason with the high ball, but we have to try something that can potentially turn good field position into points.
We could have taken a more conservative safer option and as plenty have mentioned played Staines at fullback, but would he help our attack flow and help us get across the stripe more often from fullback ?
I like Staines as a player and don’t believe he’s been given a decent chance as a fullback, but he like Bula is very limited with his playmaking ability.
The other option was Luke Laulilli and he looks a good running threat as a fullback, but he would have also been targeted under the high ball.
I think Luke is a much better option at fullback he's a much better catcher of high balls than Mason who makes me hold my breath.Benji has got no idea needs to go.

Manly at home. DCE and Turbo on the same edge. Pressure on Seibold. Bula out. Very unlikely to win
Plus the players have taken responsibility for their form

What a great time for Manly to be playing at home and looking to reignite their season against the team that always plays poor teams back to exceptional form

Even if that form only lasts one week

Anyone watch footy games? Sloan is the worst defender you have ever seen. Serious. People need to do some research before throwing names around.
Flanagan would prefer a slow was a wet week back as long as he hit it up. Bellamy or Bennett would get the best from Sloan. It takes a coach prepared to back the player to get the best from him.

I forget where it was raised but Gus didn’t want Galvin to be available until Nov
Richo actions sped up the process
Good and I hope it's completely buggered their salary cap and crippled the Bulldogs for the next 25 years. My mate is a rabid dogs fan, his wife is a rabid Storm supporter I told them yesterday I want a Dogs and Storm grandfinal with 10 seconds to go with the Storm leading by 2 and Galvin knocks on over the try line trying to win the game. Lol.

Correct. The two most vulnerable times for muscle tears are when they are yet to be warmed up and when they are under fatigue. Good example is Bulla’s injury. The most likely times for this to occur were either in the pre game warm up or the 80th minute, in this case the latter. Chances are, that exact same move in the 50th minute would have caused no harm at all. That’s why Latu is having minutes managed. He’s a player that relies on explosive movement and when you do that under extreme fatigue you are more likely to injure the muscle / soft tissue.
Is it something over time that becomes less of an issue if dealt with properly, or is it a career thing that just needs to be managed.

Other thing that doesn't help is not having a stable halves pairing for the season. Hopefully now Latus in, him and Luai can build a real combination and our halves can finally settle. Jerome's tried his guts out all year, it can't be easy for him swapping halves partners every few weeks. Just hoping now Latu is in Jerome can just play like Jerome without the pressure of having to do everything. I think once Latu and Jerome settle they will be dynamic.

Couldn’t see it… his defence is atrocious.
Much worse than AD ever was (and I don’t agree he was as bad as some make out)

ADs defence was atrocious… but he improved it … Sloan can improve it too depending mostly on his mindset …key word being “can” and I would be reluctant to be relying on that now

One thing that he has that can’t be improved upon is speed … ask AD about that …

He’s done that before 😂

Benji perseveres with players that let him down way longer than he should…Faataape last year is an example of that

Tell me … what is the upside of “trying Mason in the role”? He is never going to unseat Bula as FB when he is fit , and Mason’s deficiencies will be targeted and could cost them the game this week .. a game against an under pressure opposition that has injures and is struggling ..when the WT really needs a win

Mason has been terrible the past 2 weeks in very tight games … although fortunately he will be a little more hidden this week
