Tallyn Da Silva #270

The more I think about it , the less it makes sense to allow him to explore let alone release him before June 30 and for all this to have appeared to be sudden dramatically on the week of the cutoff.

I’ve come to a conclusion like a couple times other posters that some incident had occured. Now whether the club is at fault or tds I have no clue, but has to have been something more than him wanting out due to api

If that is the case , everyone can stop blaming the club for being clueless etc and letting go of juniors on this one

TDS was on good coin for a kid. We won’t sign anyone I’m assuming the full cap will be used on pre paying players that are staying. It’s disappointing we are throwing in the towel on the season at this stage but understandable.
We are throwing in the towel on the decade. Another spoon incoming.

Richo was saying we had one of the best spines in the league.

Half have been let go & we are near last again.

Is Richo deluded or again just trying to sell false hope to fans

Except champion @Harvey, TDS was not part of the spine Richo was referring to (Api, Galvin, Jarome and Bula).

What is going on behind the scenes, re player roster is not known outside the tent.
The Galvin and TDS team defections were not on the horizon months back - so revised thinking has to happen.

Just as an aside, what about Coach Bennett and the Bunnies.
Lost 5 in a row too.
Teams just have to man up.

With respect B2T, TDS said openly he didn't want to wait behind Api to play 1st grade.
He could have instead said 'this is a shit club, and I don't want to play here.
If we were something like the Storm and the sitch with Harry Grant waiting behind Cameron Smith, he would probably have stayed.
Yeah that’s all true.

My point is that the club had a choice to make between sticking with the ageing Api, or embracing the emerging talent.
I consider they’ve made yet another boo boo.
Only time will tell who is correct.

And yes, I don’t think Tallyn holds any ill will toward Wests.

Much like we do now. Throw out a crap team, lose, keep referring to the long term plan, release a few players to weaken the squad, run last, sack the coach, rinse and repeat.
Sounds like a plan, in fact this has proved to be a success at the Wests Tigers since their inception.

BREAKING: Tallyn Da Silva has signed a long-term deal with the Parramatta Eels with the young hooker joining the club with immediate effect.

Da Silva will form a lethal 1-2 partnership with Ryley Smith in the coming seasons.
Terrible news.
Especially in the week where Api is unavailable due to concussion.

There has to be an investigation.

The Eels are building nicely under Ryles.
Best of luck to Tallyn, I’m sure he’ll do well 👍

No statement from the club on the web site , but it’s probably correct and is not great news , TDS was not ready for full time first grade but should have been given more minutes this year to build him up for next year , kid probably stays if he can see the transition happening , Benji sitting him on the bench 2 games back was very bad coaching , his zip could have changed that game but we never know , I just hope we don’t elevate week players to fill the top 30 we need players added TODAY ,

he got to play just then but didn't do well, now we will never know if he will transition well or not coz he is moving... he did show some brilliance in past games but on the weekend he was really bad and he got hooked.

Radio silence on the part of the club.

They must be embarrassed by what has happened, releasing yet another player early to strengthen a club that we are competing with to avoid the spoon and yet when the coach was asked on a number of occasions he had no idea if the player would still be here post June 30 or not, despite still having a year and a half to run on his contract.

Yeah sure, the kid did not play well at all in his last game with us even though in the past he has come on and been a key factor in sparking some sort of a revival and making a difference.

When it comes down to it, who did play well in what was once again a must win game, probably a result of a lack of team morale resulting from the crap that constantly goes on at this club.

Now, as predicted by many on this forum our star #9 is now unavailable and we will be scratching to fill positions.

Do these f*&#wits fail to understand that this club is cursed and that these worst case scenarios inevitably happen at this club and yet we still constantly make these types of brain dead decisions.

This club will continue to be cursed while ever this club is run on a shoe string budget and we are managed by incompetent morons.

More indulgent and more frequent lunches for the board members, I mean you wouldn't waste the money on a dedicated Manager of Football or more talent scouts on the ground.
The cab sav at Grappa stretches a bit further when theres less to share!!
After 3..each...we mite even come up with our next coach??
If we did ,Id personally fund a bottle!

So apparently he was on $400K next year? Crazy money for such an inexperienced player who hasn't showed much. And now he's gonna be on even more. They even already have Ryley Smith who is already a better player and may even have a higher ceiling. Hope it ends poorly for Parramatta.
Didn't want an apprenticeship under Api but OK to do one under an apprentice?
Something is rotten in Denmark. Someone hinted at there being more to it.
