Well it wasn’t progress by any stretch.

Richo is being paid handsomely for his services. Then he’s gone.

I don’t wish ill upon him, but it benefits us to hold him accountable.
I think that’s pretty laughable considering we went backwards for nearly a decade under the previous boss.

Richo has us trending the other way, don’t expect miracles overnight and you’ll enjoy the ride more.

If we start going backwards again, then I’ll understand your views.

explain , you mung bean , why is Benji a failure ,because were not yet in the top 4 . Do you not see improvement this year compared to the last 8 or so . Yes Benji may be a drongo , the boys seem to respect him ,and that equals long term growth. Richo just spouts a united front so the troops move forward . and that can all flip on a dime
Benji has the worst record in the NRL, the players are underperforming, the test for the improvement is where we finish.

The united front, sure, but a tad too cosy.

If we get smashed for the rest of the season, I think we should bin the project.

If you think the beating by the storm was a first grade effort, that’s a matter for you.

Promising his bestie another year before today wasn’t exactly blue chip management.

In the long run, the Mates Act doesn’t work.

It’s a shame we haven’t distanced ourselves from its horrific invocation!

I think Richo is still a wait and see proposition.

Good win today, no regrets about that.

You’re very fixated on one of our 16 performances.

Benji is under contract.

I don’t have all night lol.

Check the table out and I’ll leave it there. Work tomorrow to give ex rooster mate a hiding.

Ps: Benji shouldn’t be under contract…!

Benji has only coached WT and prior to this season had a squad made up by 90% reserve graders.

Check Maguires stats while he coached us.

What's your assessment on Bennett? Hasler? Flanagan? Hugely experienced coaches, all with 1 or more premierships under their belt and they aren't doing any better. You can't blame Richo or Benji for these clubs...explain it to us...what do you know that they don't about winning in the NRL?

That was an interesting interview -

Ruthless to be successful
There is a plan locked in place. Stick to the plan only way to get yourself out of the doldrums.
For the good of the club to re-sign Koroisau
Don't have a lot of senior leaders in the club, couldn't lose Koroisau
Take Da Silva's money and reprioritise to positions of need.
Players will stay if the club is stable.
Plan to make the 8 next year.
Aust Schoolboy Hooker from Balmain coming through, 2 years away mentored by Koroisau.
Bula's clause will be activated
Benji will stay, the Mcgregor story he'd never heard of it.
The Dogs had to move on a "saleable" player eg Mahoney. to afford Galvin was interesting.

I agree with @TSP, richo's interview sounded like self promotion not club first arguments. It was all what he'd done and how bad the past was. That may be true but I want leaders to talk about the collective, to suppress urge for individual accolade and present things based on collective success. It sounded to me like he was bitter and that he wanted people to know what HE had done and how good HE is.

I actually like what he's done and think he is making progress but I didn't like his approach in that interview. You only have to look at Benji in the press conference to see how to do it properly. It's all about 'us' to Benji, he refused any personal credit or point scoring. Where Richo seemed entirely focused on it. Richo is still going on about the previous administration. We don't care about that, Richo, we know they were incompetent and there's absolutely no credit given for saying you're doing better than them.

Ultimately it's about wins, and everyone knows that. But I don't like a showboating ceo and I think he should cut that out and get some thicker skin, all this 'i don't care what people say about me' and 'i don't pay attention to all that stuff's and then a long list of all the things people have said and how they're wrong. It sounds a little childish and Richo should be better. I EVEN think he is better than that.

Richo firing away deluxe on the ABC earlier today …

Getting ready for 360

Says Benji is not going anywhere
He thinks Bula is worth the option money
They make a million for a sold out Commbank and $450k for a sold out LO…
Great listen, thanks Tom.

Your right, though I think the point Richo was making was trying to explain that over time through successive admins and coaches the Wests Tigers have remained in quicksand. Imo the reason he's saying all this is to demonstrate he isn't sitting down down doing nothing, but doing the things the club requires to put it on a solid footing finally. Setting the foundations. The major criticism atm is with players leaving we havnt heard of anyone else coming. Richos just saying iv been sorting a few other more important things out first, now that's done we can focus on playing talent. I would love him to answer what he ment when he said we had some new signings to announce on Graham's podcast when the Galvin saga was happening. Are there signings yet to be announced or was that a white lie to keep the fanbase calm.

Mate … have you thought about sending Richo an email to express your concerns ?

I hear he is very receptive to that sort of feedback …

This is a valid point .. you can tell by the way he started that interview that he is hot under the collar and does pay attention to the critics ..

I don’t really blame him though for taking it personally..… it’s not an even playing field… I look at the table and there is Souths and Titans sitting behind us on the ladder with their multiple premiership winning coaches and superior rosters … no column inches and 360 rants about them though … sure Benji deserves criticism… but so do they

As fans we need to back the man’s track record. The media is obviously biased and our fan base is over sensitive for good reason. We have more wins than last year and have been way more competitive.

A few more additions, growth of some kids and getting rid of weak links and bad attitudes and we will be much better again.

His remit would be to get the revenues right and fix the roster he’s on the way to doing both. Time will tell.
