Let us be honest our owners need to invest in the West Tigers if not we are just breeding grounds for everybody else and a below mid table club. This club over the years has offers to sell to private investors but has declined 2 that i know about, just maybe they could put half the club up for sale to attract investors

He's perfect for our club for a number of reasons, but the biggest for me is how calm and pragmatic he is.

By his own admission last night, he admitted that it was the first time in his what, 32 years as an administrator that he'd had a player refuse to look at a contract.

I mention that because outside of that situation, I'd say he's seen most if not all things before in a rugby league context and has navigated every club he's been at up the ladder in spite of these challenges.

But he does it in a straightforward, calm-toned, sequential way that he's very good at translating into a formula that the common fan can understand.

As the most emotionally fragile fan base in the league (anyone want to dispute that? 😅), he remains pretty stoic and seems near-on immovable from what is his formula for success.

I agree that the WT is behind the 8 ball compared to our competitors like Dogs and Penrith who seemingly spent a lot more on pathways and the coaching and other football related staff …

Perhaps winning football games is not as important to our owners , and they are prepared to just have a ceiling of mid table level results and have an asset that is able to pay for itself most of the time?

He speaks so fast that sometimes he doesn't finish his sentence or forgets people's names. Sometimes I think that he realises he shouldn't have said something and mid-sentence goes off onto another sentence.

In both interviews, he couldn't think of Adam Reynolds' name lol and could only rattle off one of his management staff that he was praising on ABC (Millenkamp) like he couldn't think of any others on the spot.

I can't be critical because I'm the same when on-the-spot sometimes but it's funny. Anyone else notice the same?

But it's a bit of a strawman because I'm not actually making a point that I think Richo should have solved our woes in 18 months. I'm making the point that making mild profit on low revenue is not an indicator of likely success and level that blame at the owners not him.

My only criticism of him is going on 360 and claiming it as such.

To me 'rich' in the NRL is associated with the clubs that can find the best 3rd party deals.

IMO they are currently.

Melbourne
Roosters
Brisbane
Bulldogs

Other clubs which seem to 'attract' talent more then others.

Gold Coast
Souths
Warriors

Most have backing from private owners

Yeah i was going to mention that....he gets sorta excitable.
I know a young autistic bloke early 20s who stutters but also cuts his sentences early and starts new ones while talking....mind must be going 100 miles an hour

I too was getting autistic vibes from Richo. Not that it's a bad thing. You could see the wheels in his brain were turning too fast for the cogs to handle. People like this are invaluable in business since their minds operate differently and they can see things that most people haven't even considered.
 
I hope someone asks him who is in-charge of footballing decisions other than Benji and himself?

CEO's main job is finances, getting sponsorships and the big picture stuff. Be the communication between Board and the Club.

But who's making day to day decisions about the other grades? Who's in-charge of helping out coaches, creating pathways, liaising with talent scouts?

I know Tim Grant has a role but it's mainly in things like player welfare.

Bronson Harrison I believe has a role in Pathways or is the Head of Pathways.

Peter Mussa is the high performance manager as well as head physio, not sure why they got rid of Andrew Gray, he had some fantastic results at Cronulla from memory.

I understand many clubs don't disclose all this and we don't have to either, but when you've been the worst team in the comp for so long, they need to show us that we are hiring the right people for the football team.

It just seems full of ex-players and mates' mates. Harrinson, Galea, Skando, Grant, Hodgo, Heighno, Benji, JMo.

Other than JMo, has anyone else been employed by any other NRL club?

I'm honestly not having a shot at the Club... yet, just curious to know the resumès of people other than Richo in an off-field role who are making day to day decisions.

And

A GM of football that works with coach, recruitment and ops.

Reminder - he was key to reviving the Panthers, sharks and South's from the bottom to sustained success.

Im confident that with time he will do the same here at the Tigers

Only a few more years at the current rate and we will have enough money to be able to get a full time dedicated manager of football and some talent scouts. 🤣

You make a very strong point.

There is not doubt that Richo is a most impressive talker and is very skilled at deflecting criticism but it is undeniable that much of what he says is about talking up his achievements.

There are many words that you could use to describe Richo, modest is probably not one of them, having said that I am still happy to have him here and believe he will keep us heading us in the right direction.

When I visit the Penrith mall, there’s giant pictures of Nate on some of the columns.

I can’t put my finger on it, but it kind of puts me off spending any money.

But as you know, when you come across another Wests Tigers fan and we are wearing colours, there is instant greeting friendliness and cheer. No exceptions.

Not so panther fans, they tend to smug along and ignore each other.

@Tucker told me once that we have the best fans in the game.

Do you think it is a one man job?

Seems like a cost- cutting measure to me. Maybe there are more people involved but not advertised.
