Read Brisbane Broncos annual report mentioned $75m revenue and $8m profit. Now let's say their expenses were $67m and $20m is NRL grant- does that mean they spent $47m.Compared to the Dogs almost $7.5m last year
Im not arguing with you, just making two different points I think.
1. More money from the club would help
2. Not relying on leagues club money would be even better.
Suits kids on school holidays.Richo is saving more money by having the members day on a Thursday 10 July 2pm-4pm
That is looking after the members who don't have to work. He can save on the free sausage sizzle.
Some of the Administration decisions make you scratch your head as to how out of touch they are.
I don't want to misquote you, but do you mean you wouldn't have done any different yet you have the right to criticise it as a "stakeholder"?You think I have an issue vocalising my perspective?
Frankly I wouldn't have done much differently than what he's done.
That is why I can see through it.
My role is his stakeholder. I am a fan. If my role was CEO my perspective would be different.
Yep I’m retired now but was superintendent and when I went on leave someone had to “fill my role”. I picked someone and trained him for a month on the basics of what I did and he scoffed at me about how easy my job was.Too many people focus on the delivery and not the action.
What I can see is a well thought out plan being executed patiently at the club.
Peoplr slag him, but never put their neck on the line when you ask them what they'd do differently. It's likely these people have never been in his position before and are the same people that criticise their own company from the comfort of their 100k a year job...or worse...government workers who have no idea how business works. Apologies to all the gov workers out there.
Usually the club gets a million. At least that is what the CFO told me a few years back.Did WTs see any of that $9m?
Which part? That's only true for as long as HBG say it's true.
I don’t like to say never or can’t, there’s good business operators like Richo out there, hopefully he transitions us to another one when he moves on.Yes possibly we are … I’d actually like our owners to put more money in like the Dogs Penrith and Parra do …although it’s likely that doesn’t happen …
I don’t see us ever having the corporate appeal of the Roosters unfortunately ..so we will never be able to compete with them on that basis
You make a very strong point.
There is not doubt that Richo is a most impressive talker and is very skilled at deflecting criticism but it is undeniable that much of what he says is about talking up his achievements.
There are many words that you could use to describe Richo, modest is probably not one of them, having said that I am still happy to have him here and believe he will keep us heading us in the right direction.
The only time the Wests Tigers club recorded an operating profit was the 2017-18 FY - which was a meagre $100K...I'm going out on a limb here but perhaps HBG have told WT that they need to prove that they are financially viable before investing resources. $1M in profit may be able to pay a GM of football, or establish a better pathways program etc.
We are running on an oily rag at the moment.
Yes, a shared experience like no other. That’s because we’ve been humbled for so long, we feel empathy towards each other and immediately bond.
Fine, but there was no need to spit on me and suggest I find gainful employment.I don’t often see people wearing our colours but when I do they are usually being hurled out of a pub because they are off their face at midday or they are wandering around scabbing cigarette butts off the ground and donkey rooting them from the one they already have going.
I give them a nod…
NoDid WTs see any of that $9m?
Not sure if I should let you have that much fun but what was even funnier was some of the crap that went down at the place we stayed at for a couple of nights:I’m sorry.
Post the name up of the company and I’ll use one of my google burner accounts to slay them in the reviews.
Apart from the snooty waitress, I’ll get up to some mischief.
Stale food (mould), watered down beer, pervert bar attendants serving drinks to minors, safety hazards, ask your mrs and if she orders, I’ll take the assignment.
All true, unfortunately.I don’t often see people wearing our colours but when I do they are usually being hurled out of a pub because they are off their face at midday or they are wandering around scabbing cigarette butts off the ground and donkey rooting them from the one they already have going.
I give them a nod…
There is a difference Dogs leagues club constitution was setup for the support of the footy club directors across two boards alternate and work together. Wests in old school terms don’t exist. The Wests Tigers are setup post the club. Richo knows this his goal is to make the club financial.Compared to the Dogs almost $7.5m last year
They should market it as the Aussie Fawlty Towers! Not sure if I should let you have that much fun but what was even funnier was some of the crap that went down at the place we stayed at for a couple of nights:
The funniest part was when we got back a couple of days later I got an email asking to provided a review, of course I slammed the shit out of the joint not expecting it to be published, but low and behold I then received an email thanking me for my review and a link was provided for me to see it.
- Got locked out of our 3 bed apartment on the first night and were stuck out in the cold for over an hour in mid Winter because the batteries in the lock went flat and they couldn't undo the battery cover because the screw securing it had a damaged thread and would not come out.
- The people from reception and also the bar manager couldn't get the job done and I fixed it in the end.
- There were ants in the kitchen.
- There were ants in 2 of the 3 beds.
- The taps in one of the bathrooms were loose and it felt like at some stage there would be a water fountain and the place would get flooded out.
- 2 of the split system air conditioners were full of dust and the first time they were turned on it looked like operation desert storm, as a result they were not used again.
- Apart from all that, there were stains on some of the soft furnishing and the place could have used a general tidy up and a dulux renovation would not have gone astray.
- Other than that, all good. 🤣
