CEO - Shane Richardson

Sadly, I agree that these two most recent media spots from Richo and even his last video on the WT site seem like a desperate cover up of sorts. And he doesn't need to do it. We're coming along just fine and in a better position than the past 5 years.

I have to wonder...is he sticking about for the following two seasons? He's been pretty keen to talk up all the good he's done when no one is really asking for him to do that.

He’s speaking from the position of authority and in the course of his presentations he deliberately mixes facts with a bit of opportunistic adventurism.

I think he believes it’s in the clubs best interests to adopt this approach.

He’s very alpha, dominates the discussion and leaves us breathless and exhausted.

It’s not his fault if his interviewers are stupid and lightweight by comparison….which he takes full advantage of!

Here's an interesting thing I put together with GPT Deep research.

Objective was to determine whether the NRL media post more about the Tigers because its good for revenue ie. they are valuable for content.

Answer, definitively.

And yet our club is broke all the time. Can't make a dollar.

Out of touch owners who can't or won't adapt.

I enquired about sponsoring the club in 2024. Got their sponsorship packages presented to me. John Skandalis is a club legend and is in charge of corporate sponsorship sales. They ask for hundreds of thousands of dollars a year for good sponsorships but what they offer is unattractive. I can spend the same money on my own creative campaigns online and generate trackable ROI. I can't justify it even as a fan.

But the Tigers generate eyeballs. They're interesting. They have interesting players. People can't look away.

If they had creativity in the way they engage fans and the broader NRL they could easily offer campaigns to corporates that go deeper than whack a logo on a jersey. They made vague suggestions about "game day activations" but without elaboration how can anyone justify giving them cash?

And once they sell all the jersey sponsorships thats that? Why? The NRL media invent revenue generating campaigns using our brand every day by manufacturing bullshit. The Tigers could easily just sell a "Starford To'a and Sunia Turuva eating your food on a billboard in Liverpool and attend all your corporate functions for the year" package and flog it off. They could easily sponsor a Jerome Luai and Terrell May podcast. Hell make a mobile game or something.

Logan Paul manufactured himself into a brand with a [This word has been automatically removed]ing YouTube channel and used it to launch a product empire.

They have no excuse but their own lack of imagination.
Interesting read, as is the attachment. I think this goes to the heart of the problem, a lack of investment by the owners. This. I expect, flows down hill to under resourced staffing in areas and staff wanting to do more butbeing told to do it wthh less.

Given they are good at running clubs where the interest is in locale and pokies they may not understand the marketing requirements of business and the need for at least 4xRoI on every advertising $ spent. This is selling the WT side of the venture short.

I’ll be interested to see what happens with Cambo

I don’t see another team “pushing in “…if that means playing games there… they will have the same issues to deal with as what Richo is talking about …

If you are talking about going after juniors … that’s probably happening anyway …

I kinda hope that they keep a couple of games there to be frank … even if it is a loss making exercise
Yea, Cambo is a "I want to keep it" from me.

Because I always associated Magpies with C-town and that's my place.

Then I realise that we moved there from Lidcombe. Look you look outside Campbelltown out to Camden and all that development that's happened, you realise it will be a second Penrith.

Yet I get it. Tigers need a home ground and one that's ours. The key part being ONE.

It's this thorny issue that Richo and the board need to deal with. It will be challenging but I think the club should commit to a Magpies Junior side in C-town with heavy area involvement yet keep the team mainly in the Lidcombe area.

Richo is saving more money by having the members day on a Thursday 10 July 2pm-4pm

That is looking after the members who don't have to work. He can save on the free sausage sizzle.
Some of the Administration decisions make you scratch your head as to how out of touch they are.
It's also school holidays, and encouraging supporters to attend the NRLW game at CSS. Being in CW NSW, we only get to events in the holidays (had to miss this one, though) or games on weekends.

Saving money on sausages? How cynical. School holidays mate. Honestly, some fans will take any opportunity for a swipe.

Great post....
Ive noticed pre game in the sheds recently a coue of times..the cameras sometimes catch what looks like retail sized jars and bottles of INC, Musashi etc supplements, protein, pre workout ...energy gels etc....looks like someone does a run to chemist warehouse game day morning.
Maybe we cant afford to get wholesale
That might just be sponsorships.

Having retail packs seen used by athletes sells more than bulk packs.

I am Lead to Believe Campbelltown council have a approach state and federal polies seeking a large investment into the stadium but West Tigers will not be the main tenant. And i also lead to believe Richo has been informed.

Suzie,

I know it helps with the kids being on holidays and trying to link it with the NRLW game, however trying to get to Campbelltown to see the game after leaving Concord is not an easy trip and yesterday was pretty windy and cold in Sydney so watching the game last evening not many turned up (1504 people) must have all been on the change room side.

Maybe if they want to have it around a NRLW game you could do the members day before one of the games and have the club supported with the NRL team attending also. You do not have to have an open training session as the members day that can happen any day as they training a few times a week.

Could it be another inner city club that has its nose out of joint about being locked out of Allianz

Richo said it was the Tigers that approached the Government… not Cambo Council
