OFFICIAL Jarome Luai - #295

Terrell is a no brainer and we should make him a tiger for life...

Pole, I am trying not to be too judgemental of him because before the injury he was on fire. He has a long term future here.. it's a question of how we get him to lift to the same standard that we see from Terrell each week. He is also only 23 and front rowers don't usually find their form till a bit later on. So there is alot of upside with him.

Samuela I am confused as to his best position.. but much like Pole I think his age has a bit to do with it. I am leaning toward him being in the front row rotation... Start him alongside Terrell and have Pole coming on to make impact (what people were hoping from hunt.

Sione I get confused as to where he should play... Is he a front rower? Or do we transform him into something else? Is he a potential lock or is that just trying to find a spot for him?

Twal should be coming off the bench.
Sukkar is young and I think could take the place of twal in the next year or so, but probably needs more time in KOE to work on his attack.

Seyfarth I really don't know anymore..

Bird just isnt any good the way we are playing him...

So my pack would be

8. May
9. Api
10. Samuela
11.
12. KPP ( there's more hope in this than anything else)
13.

15. Pole
16. Twal
17. Sione

So id be looking at someone like a Fifita for the #11 role... And then we need a #13.. and maybe that's douhei?

What do you think of my assessment?
It’s a good assessment I think.
Nt sure about this KPP bloke.
Plays like a bit of a puss considering the size of him.

The thing that needs to be taken into account with edge backrowers, especially young and inexperienced ones, if the ball doesn't go their way its very hard to get good stats. He is forced to play in a very narrow lane, hit the line as an option runner. He may get the ball, he may not. The ball may go the other side 65% of the time as well. We may have no good field position to present good ball to him. All these things have happend to Sukkar the past 2 weeks. Its been most us going to the left. IMO its best to judge whatever involvement he does have, and for me, he looks strong in contact in defence and attack.
I agree mate, our boys have a simple attack plan only ever going left.

I hate his guts today. We started really well against the warriors and he gave away another stupid penalty backing into kick chasers. Does he think refs are blind. How many stupid pointless penalties does this guy need to give away before our coach says something??

I just knew he would do something stupid early in the game. I wouldn't be heartbroken to see him take his option and go.
I'll give you one guarantee....he won't leave. No club (including the new teams coming) will pay as much as we are paying for him. He is the most secure player we have on the roster....and 2nd place is not close.

One of the new franchises will.
If he had no intention of leaving, he would have deleted the clauses from his contract back when he was mouthing off about Galvin.
He is full of hot air.

If we don’t start winning games and keep up careening towards the bottom of the ladder, his clause will be the next big drama in the game.
There is no way in the world we should beg him to stay. We won't need to, he'll stick to us like shit on a blanket with that big, fat salary.

Where do you see Terrell, Fanua, Samuela and Sione fitting in?
Well Terrell would obviously be the other prop, I’d swap Samuela and Sione as I think they would offer more that way and Pole not sure, lacks consistency and makes mistakes. But it won’t matter coz my comments just a dream, the best we can sign so far is that insipid Pom fro the Knights, and he’s not going to save us.

Brought down nathan cleary in origin too. NSW win game 1. Lose both games when luai comes in. Both games luai puts in bad kicks in the first half which sets the tone. He has made a habit of having good 2nd halves when the game is already over. Think back to cowboys, raiders and both NSW games. Too little, too late. tigers virus
Cleary brought himself down, he has never stood up in Origin with or without Luai.

I have been watching him closing since he signed. His carries are a bit soft but he does look to offload.
Bottom line is that KPP regularly makes 100m plus and has a great tackle counts plus efficiency, so he waltzes onto our right edge. He may not be an impact style player, yet will still consistently provide a hell of a lot more there than our current options show, including earlier today.

Hoping that Saukuru can continue his development from centre into a fresh backrower with impact and allow/force Samuela into the middle. Either way, Luai needs to make better use of whoever is alongside.

I’m pretty sure nobody believed any team would pay through the nose for brown either
