With the rising salary cap, paying someone such as Herbie 1.1 or even 1.2 million per season from 2027 onwards is in line with the 800k the Bulldogs spent on Crichton 2 years ago. They probably should be , but instead get a pub when they retire ..

Fantastic we will be the first ever NRL team to have 1-17 of only Polynesian players.
Will that help us win an NRL premiership ?
He’s on the bench for 40-50mins each week, so not many.

Not quite.. Crighton would be my choice. So if we identified we lack stroke, spent our cap money wisely and offered Herbie 1.1 million per season from 2027 onwards, you think we’d be no chance of landing him ?
Herbie is currently the best centre in the game by the way.
16 yrs and 119kg............just like Jordan Miller. Big gamble.Big boys for 16

Twal does his job and holds his own at a much higher level than Starford IMO. He's bang ordinary and lacks in defence and goes missing far too often in attackTo isolate all problems with the team to To'a is incredibly short sighted.
It's clear for most.
Repace Seyfarth...check (KPP)
Add 2 more quality forwards. One to replace Twal and one to replace Bird...Let's wait and see.
Bird, Twal and Seyfarth give us our depth.
Daniel Suluka-FifitaI’d take Bunty Afoa, Douhei, Bullemore/Hassett
He's been playing fullback in attack the last few weeks and he's also been clearly injured.Twal does his job and holds his own at a much higher level than Starford IMO. He's bang ordinary and lacks in defence and goes missing far too often in attack
Let's be honest- how much can you rely on a winger to bring the shift in momentum?Skelton is making a few players start to look. Has crunched a few blokes this season
Kaufusi I can get on board with for sure.Daniel Suluka-Fifita
Josh Papalii
Felise Kaufusi
Also Farnworth, Nathan Cleary, Reece Walsh, Kotoni Staggs, Isaiah Yeo, Payne Haas, Liam Martin, Hudson Young and Harry Grant for the hooker bench spot to rotate with Api.
Hate to say it, but I don't think KPP will be that dynamic backrower we all want. And the combination with KPP already exsists.
Yeah I agree with you there. It's always difficult getting QLD players to come to NSW in any volume.Kaufusi I can get on board with for sure.
I doubt he will relocate from Qld at 33, but he provides the ability to shift momentum more than most players off contract.
None of that proves he's not slow, lazy and inconsistent....8 line breaks, 9 tries, 7 try assists from 15 games.
When was the last time he was in the clear and didn't get run down? And I'm not talking about from 10m outToa's also quicker than he looks, when in the clear hard to run down.
I also think a 14 in the mould of siliva havillii or Elijah Taylor who actually starts the first 20 would be a massive get for us too. Api can’t play 80 week in week our and I think somebody who sures up the defence in the first twenty is hugely important.Toa could be upgraded no doubt. But our biggest weaknesses imo this year has been right backrow - KPP coming in. Left centre - May is a huge upgrade. And lock - Douiehi TBC. We also need more depth.
I think we have been very patient in the market - at time to my criticism as I think with more depth this year we could have easily had another win or two and still be in the running for the 8 - but what we’ve bought is clear upgrades in our biggest positions of weakness.
Lock to me is the big one remaining. Fingers crossed Douiehi can step up or we will need to sign somebody else of serious quality to have a decent chance at the 8 next year.
ok coach.None of that proves he's not slow, lazy and inconsistent....
Having a centre who plays one good game a month is just not good enough
